I feel you but sometimes, no matter how good or great an individual defender is, one player in particular is just a bad matchup. Dennis Rodman was the best perimeter defender of his generation but Karl Malone and occasionally Shawn Kemp would own him no matter what he did. I think you’re right that Gobert is a but overrated but he’s still a really solid defender. I think KAT is stronger and has a lower center of gravity combined with quickness makes him a better defender against the Joker.

@@jmoney6043 AD did just as poorly against Jokic. It's a matchup issue. People best able to defend Jokic are those capable of getting a lower center of gravity to combat his mass and strength. AD and Gobert are both tall and strong, but they don't have the mass and ability to get low enough to battle Jokic in the paint. That's why KAT does better

​@@CharlieLucky526 bingo, it's a matchup problem. You need to not only be strong but be able to get low enough to battle Jokic like the bigs of former days used to do. KAT is heavier with a lower center of gravity and he's also able to get lower than Gobert. Naz also can be an acceptable defender against Jokic, but Naz reaches in even more than KAT does so gets called for fouls way quicker. I mean, has anyone noticed that Naz is the only one who has blocked Jokic while guarding him? It's because he can stay up close and battle like KAT, but he also has the benefit of being a bit quicker and more athletic so is able to also reach in far enough to get a hand on Jokic's behind the head shot

NBA is a matchup based league. Centers don't man up on guards generally, etc. Jokic is an offensive menace and cooks everyone he plays. Kat is just faster laterally and lower center of gravity which helps him vs Joker. Gobert has been the unquestioned backbone of the best defense in the league, and getting cooked by the best player in the world is hardly an indictment.
