It shows (to me anyway) that good art stands up to a live performance. If your "hit" includes 500 people playing in an orchestra and 120 back ground vocals re-mixed 3 times, your live performance will NEVER sound like this one did. Just awesome.

I think, THINK, it might be to do with him being self-conscious that one of his legs was shorter than the other. Notice how when he's not singing, he steps away and constantly moves at an angle, as opposed to standing up straight? It's also why Matt moves over at the end, it's not just to use a different mic, it's to draw attention away from Rivers. If you watch their performance of Say It Ain't So on Letterman circa '95, Rivers has a leg brace on from an operation to correct the length. He's very self-consicous about, so again, Matt is doing a lot of exaggerated movements that he doesn't always do. I only conclude this because I don't think he started changing the way he held his guitar years later, I think it occured pretty much during the tenure of this 'original' (most well-known) line-up, pre-'97.

Every mid Nineties emo and post hardcore band looked like physics undergrads from the 60s , but with ink. It only blew up after record execs mined it empty and Hot Topic and Urban Outfitters packaged it up for Millennial and Zoomer normies.

Man I'm getting old. When I saw them in '94, even with all the other amazing bands I saw that year, Weezer was just something so special at the time. Who knew how they'd continue to be soo soo great. Pinkerton is the best album though...

Let me disagree sir. Blue Album is a real 90's rock masterpiece. Pinkerton induces Depression and Anxiety.
@greenman32653 жыл бұрын
@@AkADare-jc2dk That's blasphemy...Pinkerton is arranged beautifully and has tons of little intricacies to it that make it so awesome! It's melancholy in spots sure but the way it's performed comes off with such passion and from a place of true honesty yet it still has time to poke fun at itself. All the guitar tones and awesome riffage make it quite unique. Their later stuff kinda lost that magic imo by sounding more clean cut in terms of having a more produced sound along with lamer topics in their songwriting.
