I have my hands on the xiaomi ultra. It's performed perfectly god tier. Comparing 14 ultra to vivo x100 pro casual users might lean towards vivo's HDR photos. Xiaomi is tuned to mimics leica professional looks and there are some area people might think 14/14ultra is performing bad

Great video Dariusz. I agree with your conclusion. The Magic 6 Pro was more consistent. It also pulled in more light than the 1" sensor the the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Very disappointed with Xiaomi's output

THANKS for comparing with magic 6 pro, as always good videos my friend 4:00 I have seen in some tests that focus on the honor with the 2.5 telephoto can be pretty hard to get the phone does not switch to the telephoto if you are too close to the subject (which seem to be the case here) I am pretty sure it is using the main lens in this shot (you can see it by moving the camera away from the subject, you'll see if the lens is switching or not) to be honest honor has some great things, it's a very nice phone, their new Ultimate (sadly only in China) and RSR have some good improvements too... but video capabilities are not good (especially with because of the jittering and bad zoom capabilities), photos are very great with some good options, good results but overall not so versatile because of zoom being great until max 5x then declining, and especially because of the video capabilities that are not so great thanks for your opinion and video

Ogólnie honor wydaje się bardziej premium. Na papierze Xiaomi bije specyfiką Honora ale w rzeczywistości software nie daje rady ogarnąć tą optykę. Zdjęcia wychodzą za jasne w 90%. Jest dużo ustawień gdzie można sobie to zmienić. Za to honor robi mega zdjęcia za każdym razem. Jak skończyłem testy to zaczęło parować szkiełko od obiektywu. Masakra. To samo było z Xiaomi 13t pro jak testowałem. Moim zadaniem honor 6 pro abo VIVO x100 pro są lepszym wyborem niż 14 ultra.

Myślę,że VIVO jest nr 1,jeśli chodzi o aparaty,natomiast pokusiłbym się o stwierdzenie,że Honor jest najbardziej kompletnym telefonem na ten moment(hardware+software). Zdjęcia nim robione są w 90% przypadków świetne,jeśli nie używamy zoomu powyżej optycznego. Pozdrawiam

Dxomark with hm6pro exposed themself hard for laugh with that ranking, hm6pro is far from number 1 with current state of their camera software. How anyone could give it n1 if it consistenly overexposing 80-90% of the shots, insane.

I think Xiaomi 14 ultra isn't considered a "dummy" camera phone. In traditional SLR, photographers (like myself) will need to manually adjust the exposure by dialing in or out the aperture or shutter speed and the EV compensation (or sometimes the film ISO) to suit the image's overall brightness.

That was kind of surprising. I think the definites are Xiaomi wins for zoom and Honor wins for selfies. Apart from that I guess it's debatable but I much prefer the skin tones on the Honor magic 6 pro. For general photos I think it switches too and fro. Suprised by night time pics. The magic 6 pro keeps up very well despite the smaller sensor. Anyway nice comparison with interesting results

Great job and keep it up !❤ Honor is the best smartphone in the world in the last two years in my opinion. I'm talking about the M5 and M6 pro. People can argue about the camera and I do agree that Vivo, Huawei, Oppo, Pixel and Iphone have some advantages is some departments but also lose in others. But as an overall Honor comes on top and nobody can convince me otherwise. My best camera feature is actually the quick shutter and transitions on Honor's camera. The only one that is actually a bit better than Iphone's. But Honor is not only great for that. It has so many advantages that I would make this post the longest ever if I would start.

0:51 I recommend comparing photos of the same kind. Don't compare portrait vs non-portrait photos. I would also appreciate a section talking about detail with digital crop on the photos to compare the detail and noise up-close!

But one small thing Dariusz, you should have told if Xiaomi 14 Ultra shots were taken with Leica vibrant or Leica authentic mode. Now we don't know which one you used. Your skin looked too pale in my opinion too, but was it only because of Leica authentic mode?

Ngl, but you must be blind. In portrait mode, the first pic - Honor, better take on exposure yes, but the mask is literally clipping on the subject, whereas Xiaomi's is pretty much perfect (but overexposed), the second - Honor overexposed, Xiaomi underexposed, for some reason Xiaomi has much more details (look at the hand), third pic - again, Honor is doing terrible job at masking subjects, making artifacts around them, whereas Xiaomi is near perfection. fourth pic - mask clipping on Honor (right shoulder), Xiaomi doing much better job with hair. Most of the things on Xiaomi you can fix in post. But you will spend hours getting rid of those artifacts around Honor's masking algorithm. The biggest problem with Xiaomi? Skin smoothing. Solution? HD portrait ON to not do it.

From what I have seen in your excellent review and elsewhere, Honor is more consistent. This is important, especially when he window of opportunity is a narrow one to score a shot. Honor has no lens fogging, has better software and much better price. If money is important, it is difficult to bet Honor on price/performance alone. That's what I will likely go with, once my venerable Xiaomi Mi 8 finally dies. I am still keen to see what DXOMARK will have to say.

Honor's software is still raw. As it was with Honor M5Pro, with each update this smartphone will shoot better and better, new features will appear and old ones will be improved. My vote goes to Honor. Thanks for a great job and a great review!

Idk how to explain this so I'm just gonna give an example instead. Imagine you take a selfie from 2 cameras and one looks better so you choose that pic. Not realising that the pic that you didn't choose is what you actually look like. Xiaomi shows what you actually look like, Honor shows what you think you look like but instead you hate Xiaomi for a bad pic when it's you who think you look better than you truly are.

Great as always. Honor has a bit punchy colours. Xiaomi more natural. Xiaomi wins on zoom where Honor might be better on portrait shots. Macro mode on Xiaomi is better. Honors fake bokeh video looks really weird and wrong. Highlight on Honor is video recording with Movie mode and Classic LUT. Very cinematic like colours. In total Xiaomi won here but I think Honor could improve stuff more with updates. Though Xiaomi already has HyperOS 1.0.7 in the pipeline that improves portraits and HDR

Against these two devices, Honor photos are incredible better than xiaomi and I was impressed about the difference. Honor magic6 pro is a really great photography phone. The colours and the images was so alive while in xiaomi was a bit more natural? but much more dull and lifeless. In selfie video and photo honor is even better at xiami day and the night. The problem with honor is the maximum zoom after 5x which the quality is bad while other phones and the previous magic5 at 10x or even 15x the photos was great. I did not like the 2.5 optical zoom by honor and was turn off. The stabilization seems xiaomi was a bit better. Also less options on xiaomi while has quad cameras and more expensive phone. Overall, still i do not believe honor deserves the first place of Dxomark and Vivo 100x pro looks better photography phone all around but we do not know how they testing and the include many things such autofocus etc which many not see on youtube. But yeah, honor great phone all around but I prefer my magic5 pro for the 3.5 optical zoom which is huge against the 2.5 x

It is considered 2.5x because the focal length of the main camera is 27mm, other cell phones usually shoot at ~23mm. 2.5x zoom times is 68mm, which is basically the same focal length as the Samsung in 3x. The large sensor + 180mpx + wide aperture have big differences at night, and during the day it performs great in short and medium zoom, only lacking in long range tele. If I had another camera in 10x it would be Perfect, but it would significantly increase the cost of the device.

Honor is good but I'm tempted with Xiaomi's Leica and Vivo's Zeiss lens.. Perhaps I'll get a Vivo X100 Pro soon.

Honor, Xiaomi, Oneplus all these are using software enhancements way too much in their Cameras. Samsung is also doing this by using over-sharpening way too much. This destroys their authentic Camera capabilities in my opinion. It feels like they are trying to deceive us which is very unfortunate. iPhone's Camera is obsolete in the hardware dept. Oppo and Vivo are the only true champs in 2024 imo.

Honor easily beats the Vivo x100 pro in most comparisons I've seen and this is reflected on DxOmark. A larger sensor is generally superior in the sense that it collects more light, but 1 inch sensors are not that much larger than the Honor's sensor. Additionally, with a smaller sensor it's generally easier to achieve better stabilization, which is an advantage in low light. Oppo is more or less on par with Honor.

Thanks! Okay, this makes me feel better with Magic6 vs. Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Although Honor's zoom is still really horrible. Texts are not legible anymore. Maybe Huawei P40 Pro+ (4+ years old) with 10x is still better!

True to colour? I've seen many Magic 6 pro reviews and on each of them the white balance is off, pulling way too much towards the warm tones. For me in many situations it just ruins the photos it makes. Which is a huge shame, because its hardware is really great.

Thanks for review! Nice that you add few examples of portrait instead of 1 like everyone else. Honor overexposing hard, xiaomi underexposing hard, both sucks in 80% shots, they need software update immediately, because in current state is a joke for such money.

Honor skin color much better. Honor DR better. Honor saturation in photography better. Xiaomi for photography is inconsistent. You can do good pics with it but the level of consistency is the key in photography.

@@drakoran It's a video, you can't see the colors in real life, even though I feel Honor is better in selfie, there are some times Honor makes his skin kind of yellow, but that's the only case where colors don't look real
