We start with an unexpected turn of events-missing our scheduled stop at Puerto Costa Maya. Despite the sunny weather, the captain announced that the high swells and rough waves made docking unsafe, forcing us into an unexpected sea day. While some cruisers who booked excursions through the cruise line received automatic refunds, we had booked independently, leaving us to figure out how to get our money back.
