Aston Villa appointed former Philadelphia 76ers president Chris Heck recently. A very talented individual who can create revenue with his eyes closed. He will be the head of all commercial and business matters. There will be no Mateu Alemany. His u turn has been known for a week now and is no slight on the Villa, so Matterface and Keown should be embarrased by their statement, Simon is the same as he didnt correct them. Get updated. This isnt the first time laziness has crept in. Plenty of pundits are also guilty. I actually like the fact we fly under the radar. Full recognition will be prevalent and undeniable soon enough.

Its a myth Emery was not backed considering that Emery broke the Arsenal transfer record. Granted there is dispute over who signed the players during his time at Arsenal, but the investment was there and he signed more than 11 players....some hit (Tierney, Luiz) and some miss (Pepe, Torreira) and some will come good later (Martinelli, Saliba). However I do feel he was unfairly treated as he lost alot of support when he got rid or tried to get rid of alot of Arsenal fan favoutites like Ramsey, Wilshere and Ozil... even though looking back it was probably a smart decision.😅

Winning the league with Rangers in a year that Celtic imploded, wasn't that impressive tbh. But everyone conveniently forgets what was going on at Celtic that season...

watch out premier league villa have achieved this with one legit forward for six months ollie Watkins if we beef up our attack with a couple quality additions we will be in the race next season for Europa pushing the top four we'll always be the underdog but that is how we like it and our significance in terms of history can only be matched by clubs like Everton in this league. People tune in to watch the likes of us and Brighton have a stab at it a healthy Aston villa = a competitive premier league cause we are planning to be here now indefinitely UTFV!!!💜💙

I liked Emery, was unlucky to come in straight after Wenger and some of the players he had were shocking. Mustafi, Papastadopulous, Xhaka (back then, not now),Lichtsteiner, Pepe,Iwobi, Ramsey on his way out. 5th place and Europa League finall with that squad was not bad. With this Arsenal team he would do better as well

Finally someone who thinks 4 themselves instead of repeating the same old narrative about him failing. If anyone saw the players he inherited at arsenal & the toxicity around the squad. Gave debuts 2 many of the 1st team who are still there. 1st season wld be seen a successful, imagine dealing with ozil & Ramsay leaving, Sanchez etc etc. He's transformed the same players Dean Smith & Gerrard signed into proper confident aggressive attacking intelligent unit. That part doesn't even get mentioned.

Managers are expected to be an instant success within months of their appointment. There are only 4 champions league spots and 3 relegation spots. The in between clubs compete for lesser positions. My point is that only a small number of clubs in the premiership will really enjoy success and they tend to be managed by the elite coaches and have significant financial clout.

At the start of last season I thought Villa had the 7th best squad in the league but not necessarily the 7th best Team - but I was proven wrong they are at least the 7th best Team so far. Once Unai brings in better players villa should do better going forward.

Unai took over when we(Arsenal) were a club in disarray. He did make some mistakes, and there may have been some truth to the reports about his inability to communicate with certain players because of the language barrier. However, let's be fair to Unai; the overall club situation was poor when he took charge. We had been sliding for a few years, he was taking over from a legend, and we still needed to decide on our club's management and recruitment structure after Arsene left. Most of the players signed in his time have subsequently been moved on, and we had a lot of deadwood to clear out; our progress in the last 2 seasons has been built by offloading the likes of Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang, Mustafi, Sokratis, Kolasinac, Bellerin, etc. For some reason, we didn't/couldn't start that process when Unai was still in charge

The Media were given a "get out of jail free card" on this one. They were disgraceful. If Unai Emery had a slightly darker skin colour, there would have been heads rolling, and at least a dozen Cabinet meetings on the issue. Since he is white... The media also forgets that he has a family, friends, pride, and feelings. What they did to him at Arsenal (and I was a Spurs fan, so shame on all Spurs fans who were some of the biggest abusers) was disgraceful, and reveal just how low the Media and the whole of society have fallen. A Society without compassion and values is a "valueless" Society, until it implodes, as it is doing before our eyes... GOOD!!! The Strength of Character revealed by Unai Emery should be an example for all of us, and someone to look up to.

He doesn’t have the right “drip” or the best hair to loved, especially at arsenal. Top gooners want Arteta in their bed and in the dugout. If Emery was backed like this muppet Arsenal would have won a EL and done well in the CL by now, aftetalll he took a load of journeymen to the CL Semis and was 45 minutes away from extra time. He slapped Juventus 3-0 and beat Bayern, Arteta can’t beat Sporting Lisbon and Olympiakos.

Emery is a great manager, but he didn't want to change his football philosophy even though at the time he didn't have the right players he wanted at Arsenal. Because they didn't support him with the funds required at the time. Villa should be proud that they've got a huge name.

He finished a place higher than Wegner did in his last two seasons, and he only missed out on a CL place by one point. He got them to a European cup final. I don’t understand what there is to criticise him for in his time spent at Arsenal. Oh well, he’s more than welcome in Villa Park. UTV✌🏻

Emery is a good manager just the wrong appointment at the time for arsenal. Arteta came in an ripped everything up and started again and he played under wenger so i dont know why martin has a problem with emery trying to do the same

Gerrard almost relegated Aston Villa and it was a stroke of luck getting Emery. I think if they stuck with Gerrard, they would have been in 20th place and would not return to the premiership the following season. Apart from Howe, there are no capable English managers and that says it all. Due to cost of living, sky subscriptions are nosediving so this will be the last big contract from the broadcasters. Thus, all the well paid players will leave for Spain and Italy as the premiership will only be able to pay peanuts.
