Unfolding 3d models in Pepakura

A follow up on last weeks video on how to unfold an extracted 3d model in pepakura, this can then be printed on a normal printed, cut out and traced onto foam.

Your videos on Pepakura have helped me so much. I tried a few years back but was intimidated. But after watching your vids and a few others, it’s opened a whole world of cosplay I didn’t think I’d know. Thank you.

one important thing i learned is to double ur flap size. especially when you're working with small folds. I was dumb, my hold flaps are like 2mm its so tiny my fat fingers can't even fold it.

Good video man. I try to specifie my open edges before unfolding. In that way it makes more sense to me and os much easier to identify the parts. Keep up the good work. Lookin forward to the tutorial about a new smoke machine from a normal e cig mod tank

enzo welvaert yeah man I do more with it also. Like lowering the amount of shown fold lines efc. But I don't want to make videos too long and complicated for a new user. Serve it more in bite sized chunks so it's easier to take in.

Also in the pepakura basics video ( an older video I go into it a bit more. Also the differences between using it for paper or foam) Still waiting on parts for the super smoker. AliExpress shipping times ya know

Do you have any tips for something that has a high polygon count? I want to reduce it but still keep most of the shape of my model

hey I just want to create a flat pattern from a single arched piece. How come it gives me a bunch of pieces and they will not join?

Where did you get the model cause i have a model of clone trooper armor on meshmixer and it creates thousands of edges which makes it harder and more time consuming to attach many pieces.

Ive barely downloaded pepakura 4 like 5 days ago...my pepakura doesnt have all the icons the pepakura has in this video. Ive downloaded files for halo armor...bucks odst spartan armor. But its a foam pattern. How do I edit it for card stock? Do I need to do something else or is there a totally different pepakura 4?

Hey just wondering in the beginning of the video your finished boot is smooth and the fold lines are gone you didn’t show how to do that in the vid is there another video you do show that? Thanks

Know this is 4 months late but there's an option to set the threshold for fold lines, you just set it to 0 to get rid of them

Where did you get the texture for the boot?

same way as in my previous video about extracting it, in the same folder where "units" is located, there is also a folder called "textures" all of HOTS textures are in there, the hero texture is called "storm_hero_kingleoric_space_diff.dds just replace the kingleoric name with whatever hero tecture one you want, you might have to search a bit, you can convert .dds files for free to .jpg on many online image converter

@@stormyeffects4795 both are agapornis, male and female, the male is being a total dickbag now as we placed a small box in the cage as the female was showing signs of wanted to nest. they are now, so he is being super protective and attacking anything that comes near them. he is fearless though :P thanks for the sub, glad it helped :D

Aren't you a treasure... dont take your frustrations out on me while i was asleep so can't answer your every friggin whim instantly, if you actually take a look at my videos, there is a how to 3d model in fusion360, how's that for your dead end. Have some damn patience next time please.

The pre made models you referred to earlier are game rips (alot of times) so either learn to extract those and go from there or watch 3d modelling video like the one I referenced earlier, that's how you could make your unique thing... Pepakura isn't for modelling, it needs an existing model to work from...
