Arches National Park in Southern Utah. We hiked to Landscape Arch, Double-O Arch and Delicate Arch. We did all this in roughly seven hours. An unforgettable place near Moab, Utah!

Randy, Just watched the 2014 video with your family (the same year we visited too) and while your kids made it look easy to get to DELICATE ARCH, I like that when you made this 2019 video with your pals, you show how STRENUOUS that hike really is, not to mention the cliff edges. All uphill. We made it, but had to take our time. I am so thankful that we hiked to Delicate Arch in 2014, as I am not able to do that kind of hiking today. Also the DOUBLE O ARCH, I think your kids just scrambled over that in 2014! But this video does help everyone understand the hike. I really enjoyed watching your video of it today. THANK YOU, . . . Mike

I went to arches in June 2020 and it was absolutely amazing. The hike up to delicate arch is relatively short but the incline had me beat. My favorite two hikes and arches were broken arch and hidden arch. I’m actually glad I didn’t see this before going because I really didn’t know what to expect and the feeling of awe this place gave me is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Love your channel and content. Hopefully I get to run into you on the trails some day !

@@AmericasParks Actually it was the worst hike in Arches I have ever been on. The first time we hiked up the back side of the arch holding on to a chain on top of poles. The second time we came in by bus and walked across across the street to the arch. Both times the arch was up in the sunlight. The last time we went it was a 4 hour hike to the arch and it was down in a hole, there was no sun on it. Not really worth the time it took.

Yeah, the end hike was to Delicate Arch... one of the best at Arches imho. The one earlier was the Devils Garden Loop. Have a great week!

I agree, they are nasty! Funny how they are all over the American West, but thankfully I rarely see them. They camouflage pretty well. Wouldn't like to know how many times I...

Hey Kenny, you'll be totally fine on this one. Marked trails and a lot of people all going the same way. Best arch in the Park! Take care!

Is there any danger on these hikes? They seem to have some ledges, but not like Angels Landing? I have a 12 year old daughter who is the type that would jump from a plane... so I worry about taking her to Zion because I think she would be all about Angels Landing, and though I want to one day do that hike, I don’t know if I am ready to see my daughter attempt that. She plays travel soccer and I am sure she’d be fine, but I can’t handle it. Lol

Fair question! There some good hikes without steep drop-offs at Arches, but the rest with the drop-offs are relatively safe... when you are careful. Much of it really depends on your daughter. If she stays focused at 12 you should be fine. If not, I would keep her close/hold a hand. You'll know the spots I'm referring to when you see them. Enjoy! Never regretted starting my kids on the NP trips when they were young.

Is mid October good to visit this park?

Personally, I have never been there that late in the year. The crowds will be much smaller which is a huge plus. Thankfully the elevation at Arches is lower than some of the other Utah parks meaning the temps will stay warmer. I'd expect a comfortable 70 during the day. At nights it will probably drop into the low 40's. Of course, the weather can always change.

Via Payacda - I have visited this park almost every year for the past 30 years ( even though I live in the east USA). It has become more and more popular which is good and bad. If you want to go in the fall check to see if there are any events going on in Moab- arts music biking etc - sometimes you cannot even get a hotel- so it is not always less crowded than in summer. Utah advertises this park and others and they are being loved to death.

Kind of done for the year. Looking at Southern CA in early March - about 4 days. Still have some sweet footage to edit from our big New Mexico trip that my daughter and I did last July.

Whenever you go back to Rocky Mountain National Park there's a hike in the wild basin near lyons park called Ouzel Falls, its pretty nice. Its about 3 miles and on the way to it is Calypso Cascades at about 2 miles. I have a video on my KZfaq about it, its the calypso cascades video
