I think people are sick of the theatrics of it all. That kid was suuuper edgy and it was cringey hearing him try so hard to be so edgy, but I think what people are so sick of is her reaction, the way she reacted on stream, the PSA style post about it, as if it was some world ending event that she is just SO traumatized about, rather than just an annoying thing she had to deal with in a video game. I started playing back around the first Modern Warfare, and stopped playing around Cold War because I got so sick of how I was treated. The guy making the threat seems to be Australian & our laws are different to the US. In Australia, it doesn't matter if the threat was intended or not. All that matters is that a reasonable person would fear imminent danger. Depending on the state, it can also be a crime if the threat causes mental harm.

Partly true that it is no reason to leave a game if you are about your game. You just mute the person and continue playing because that is what you are supposed to care about.
