I’ve just watched this video again and I cannot think of any other machine on the market that would allow anyone in the world with a machine like this taste coffee exactly how the the roaster meant it to taste. Incredible.

actually, there is another machine that will do that and even more, the Decent Espresso machine... and it's half the price.

I love how there are so many subtle jabs at the Decent, yet it wasn’t mentioned a single time 😂 Cool to see that the X-Bloom roaster partnership mentality is a central focus too. I do have to agree on the aesthetic. I’m not a big fan of so much wood mixed in with the modern metal of the rest of the machine. I would personally prefer an all modern look. It’s possible, but very difficult to make wood look good with modern aesthetics. I think metal legs would look nicer and a less boxy overall body.

I have been following the slow release of the UNICA for close to 2 years. I is an excellent espresso machine that in time could be one😅 of the finest machines. It has a connection for changing profiles and recipes. They need to partner with another to make this more accessible to everyone. A t this time it like having a Ferrari with all terrific features and qualities. Yet, there isn’t a driver that fully understands its full capabilities or how it is to be driven. I hope they receive some additional help from Brian.

Cool beans! There was another startup who was selling a plunger-style pump, commercial 2+ group machine. I can't recall who. I love the fast heat-up time. I didn't catch if the brew group was heated electrically versus from the water only. Markus said the brewgroup was insulated -- have they got a heater element in the group (a-la-Bezerra)? $7K is pretty steep (for that I can get a GS3 or for $3300 can get an R58) I would like to see a machine in the $3K- $4K range (skip the wood trim?). Quiet operation, fast heating (readiness) and temperature profiling with effectively a dual boiler are worth a premium over traditional designs but I would hate to see them trying to milk the "Vanity Brand" market for high-end home machines.

Yes, the brew group has 4 heating elements to bring the water within .05 degrees of desired temperature. I would also like to purchase the machine for $2000, but it isn’t so. Just think in a commercial environment it might save $200-$300 just in electricity. No more stand by time, 2 -3 minutes to heat up. This advance espresso machine and its technologies will be purchased without to much trouble; Again I hope and wish for a better price…I just don’t expect it though

Question: with the change to 110 voltage is there a significant reduction in the heat up time It was mentioned that the water heater is 1800 volts ( not counting the steam boiler) It would seem to be difficult to use in a 110 household. Commercial voltages will be perfect. What adjustments might be needed for the Unica to be used in an apartment that has fixed electric power.

I was hoping there would be some discussion regarding the : Unica Pro “”USB-Port The available USB port gives you an easy way to update the firmware on the unica pro or upload/download new recipes

The one area that may need some tinkering is the steam wand pressure control. We have a timer. But, the only way to control the output is to increase/decrease the pressure in the boiler. I would hope that a knob or some other controller will be considered to easily set the steam pressure desired. Control steam output by changing the boiler pressure is not very effective.

very interesting machine, does seem to tic all the right boxes other than no manual input - by that I mean a paddle/lever or some manual activation switch. Really interesting machine

@@BrianQuan understood, but I honestly would have preferred maybe a couple of minutes of interview, letting the founder talk about the features and their design decisions and why he thinks his machine is unique, but then most of the video you putting the machine through it's paces to test the claims being made. Without the founder being in the entire video. Because honestly I'm much more interested in your assessment of the machine as opposed to the founders.

I think we need more variety in the lower end of the price range. I don’t want to spend more than 900 on a machine. Also dear god the background music had me tearing my hair out

It's a commercial machine so I feel this price point is pretty fair IMO especially when you consider the capabilities on the profiling end vs. other single group commercial machines in the 10k price range

The price is absurd... for the machine without any reliability history. Yet another time someone built something extremely expensive and because of that is talking about business use for it. I'll wait for big names to catch up with the technology a little bit. If such a machine was offered for half of that price it would be a game changer, now it's again a niche product for the rich. Business will rely on LaMarzocco, Faema, SanRemo etc.

There are new super powered vehicles developed by new companies each year. It takes money to develop such incredible technology. Now we have a chance to view an amazing espresso machine with advanced technology also.. This type of technology isn’t for free. I would recommend buying with Gaggia or Breville machines. It’s obvious you have not an understanding of what was shown here.

Agreed, it doesn't really look like it but imo it kind of feels like they got some ideas from Decent but at double the price and uglier looking. So yeah, that's why I agree, like why would I buy this at over 7000 usd when I can get the Decent for half that price and I already know the Decent performs great.

Early this year I bought a new Espresso machine and was torn between the Unica Pro and the LaMarzocco GS3 Mp. While all the features of the Unica are certainly great and would benefit many users, for me it always comes down to interacting with the machine and the reliability and lifespan of the machine itself and support service. A machine this advanced and stuffed with Features is gonna break sooner or later and repairs will be complicated. Also I‘m personally not a big fan of all this data logging and digital repeatable profiling stuff, as there is sadly no fun/challenge for me in that, just like with the Decent or the You. That being said I wish the guys of Unico the best of luck going forward! …but also the 3.5L steamboiler on my GS3 go BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR 😬🪚
