as a Nanase main who also used Nanase to learn the game, picking up vatista is definitely another world. ive been slowly but surely picking up on vatista, but she requires a ton of patience and perseverance!

As a pad Vatista player myself - it's hard but absolutely doable with the work (and assigning either A, B or C to a shoulder button makes it far easier) so don't give up! In terms of charging and not moving in the direction you're charging - you can charge Lumen Stella/ball (back charge) and Mico Ruseo/laser (forward charge) regardless of which forward direction you're holding. I.e. you can hold down-back and down-forward, which allow you to charge back or forwards without moving. Hope that helps!

I gotchu For the lasers - they actually take 53 frames to charge to charge, so almost a full second - quite a long time to be holding forward, especially in a combo. However, you can charge by holding diagonally as well, which is what you end up doing in most combos. You'll see in the first combo at 0:33 I never stop holding forward after the first forward jump. That allows me to have charge for the laser for the whole combo. As for overheads...Vati's j.A and j.B both hit overhead, and you can do them from assault, but it's not ideal. Her [8]2B or "B Drill" is an overhead - the basic combo for it is at 9:06. You have to charge up to be able to use it, which usually means jumping, but you can hide the charge and perform it close to the ground by holding up during assault jC to use B Drill, or using 5FF (force function) and cancelling it with Chain Shift. @@raymondoginga3348 Flicking is definitely harder with a kb. It takes so much getting used to. I got more or less consistent now, but it's definitely easier with a joy, for sure.

I think it just comes with a different feel to it. It's definitely possible.

I'm playing her on keyboard and it's going relatively fine. I dunno why charge characters would be any harder than normal specials for keyboard.

If your keyboard doesn't have n-key rollover, you could experience a lot of issues, since you need to be able to press multiple keys whilst holding others down for her negative edge. Outside of that, I know several keyboard players, so definitely possible!

Hold up, then down and press a button. It's a charge input, but a very unconventional one
