Lex Fridman brought John Danaher and they had an hour long talk about stuff like this haha. Danaher's answer was that the gorilla is a vegetarian that mainly have that impressive build for show... while predators like bears, tigers and lions actually hunt, kill and fight for a living. It's probably a safer bet to go with the gorilla if you think of it that way, but then again, it could very easily rip your face off if it was set on hurting you.
