In retrospect I'd experience ASMR as a child listening to older people talk about things they were passionate about.

When you have some money, two of the most important things to invest in are a good mattress and a good pair of shoes, because if you're not in one you're in the other.

I love how the old people speak English.. They are so organized when speaking and so calming.

This British Salesman is all class and all skill. So nice to hear both an artisan (Cordwainer) and a salesman weave together his skills and knowledge. Note that he is directing the young man into the best type of shoe for him not just out of trying to sell him a more expensive shoe but trying to sell him the shoe that is right for him. That is the mark of a true Professional.

Despite the fact that a pair of shoes from them is about the same price I usually pay for a second hand car, firms like this represent a portion of old England there isn't much left of and this man is a blessing. Long may it continue

I like the part around the 8:00 minute mark when he talks about how it's cheaper to send in old shoes for refurbishing than buying new ones, and how much he loves to present said shoes to customers

"The customer will say, 'Oh, are they my shoes?' And you can say, 'Yes they are... It's a wonderful feeling, wonderful feeling"

This is a masterclass not just in shoe sales, but in sales period. Professional, informative, passionate and knowledgeable.

I find the way he moves his hands while he's "selling" to be absolutely fascinating. It's a perfect companion to his talking points and is such an old school method of movement etc. I'm convinced that the person's actions and motions are a huge part of ASMR

Having worked for Church’s English Shoes in the states, this man is a masterclass. I miss the shop and the presence, as I think the tradition is rich and worth learning about. Beautiful stuff.

The Gentleman passion filled the room

Having worked both in Harrods when I was much younger, I used to love the quality of British shoe makers. Whether it was Church’ Barkers , Grenson or Cheaney they all had that very distinctive mark of quality. It was wonderful seeing the experience and knowledge oozing from this salesman, who you could just tell had great respect for the product, and who you just knew you could trust implicitly.

Damn, he is very good. Wonderful salesman, he is proud of his wares and has the experience to fit you to the best shoe for you. He explains the quality and construction and helps you appreciate what you have purchased. Very traditional and appreciated.

Sales people have always been my second favorite asmr, first is one of my children playing hair dresser on my hair. These English chap gave me great tingles

As a former salesman I wished I could have watched this video over 20 years ago. I learned more about customer service and sales skills than I did from all the training courses I went on put together.

I love the British People. In London, it makes no difference what you are looking for be it shoes, clothing, personal grooming items, the quality, knowledge, and the test of time are very apparent in each shop. I live in the United States but, I order many items from London, England because of the quality., it is unsurpassed in the World, in my humble opinion.

I got a serious soft spot for someone who really knows thier stuff. Specially a very tactile thing like shoe making too. I already like to listen, but when it's explained so calmly, quietly, but competently... Tingles.

So this doesnt give me ASMR BUT i could never be so rude as to not listen to this elder gentleman in an area of clear expertise. Watched the whole thing and learned a few things. Thanks to this man and his pride in his shoes 😁

The gentleman seems like a long lost brother of David and Richard Attenborough. With such a good narration, I can buy all the pairs.

I've been fortunate to meet Martin Grey at the opening of the Cheaney shop in Jermyn St, London. A knowledgeable and very nice man, and he's still very involved working at the Head Office in Northamptonshire. Needless to say , I wear Cheaney shoes ever since I bought my first pair 20 years ago. Its a joy to wear them.

The main reason I find this calming is because of the professionalism. I don't understand the majority of stuff he's saying, and it knocks me out.

This man is a real professional and obviously knows his business and takes the time to explain in-depth of what he's offering the customer. Invaluable.

I could listen to this gentleman for hours and never get tired of it. Not only he has a soothing voice, but the topic is absolutely fascinating.

I wish I could find this type of quality in my leather gimp costumes, the crotch is always threadbare by Thanksgiving.

Excellent presentation and no Asmr effects because i was actually interested in what he was explaining, which is the "science" of classical shoes. Also, for us Yanks, he was very easy to understand as he did not have a harsh Brit accent, making it better to appreciate.

An amazing salesman. The younger generations have no idea what the experience of a good salesman can do for confidence in the product you are wearing. A person-to-person experience is vastly superior to video in my experience. I was a suit salesman for 3 years and you get to know the customers on a personal level. They appreciate the time and effort you give them and it really makes your personality all that much better. Trust they put in you results in confidence in yourself, and that’s the key to a good salesman.

Quality, quality, quality. I miss it so much.

I suspect these shoes cost a lot less than ones made by Lobb. They look fine quality and the company is courteous, without being obsequious. I'll see if they sell to Australia. I might just treat myself to one of their products.
