18:32 Ming is literally the best colonizer 1. You have the monument which rises colonization speed super close by and are rich enough to upgrade it early game - funfact the monument is level 1 and it's bonus applies WHILE you are colonizing it already 2. Even with I colonist your economy can EASILY support 3-4 colonies 3. You can cheese the colonize taiwan mission to get settler increase early on very easily and the earlier you get it the stronger it is

Hi Ludi, first off: I love your videos. EU4-Videos are one thing, making people laugh while at it - that's another. I went for my first ever Ming game after several thousands of hours of gameplay, several weeks ago. Went for trying to rush reforms and harmonization, and getting the Kow-Tow on the side. Contrary to your strategy, I went for dropping Korea and Dai Viet right off, so I could get their Great Projects early on. Korea's on its own is just amazing, and Dai Viet is one of the two Harmony projects. Getting any Great Projects up to Tier 3 as Ming, with their money and manpower is relatively easy. Additionally, I went for Humanist Ideas as first (demanding Admin Points and putting National Focus on Admin as well), for: the additional Religious Unity required for gathering Harmony, the actually .25 Harmony, as well as the 25% Harmonizing speed. I took Exploration as second, leaving enough time for exploit...exploring the rest of the world. By the time my Harmony was around 95ish, I could start with more than 70% Harmonizing speed (going up to 75% at 100 Harmony), whilst still getting .25 Harmony surplus going up to 100 Harmony slowly. Every single Religion can be Harmonized in under 20 years from the start, making it super easy - allowing pulling in all the bonuses from the other religions super fast, without losing the 100 Harmony bonuses. Have you considered this as a tactic for Ming? What's your take on it? KR Wouter

Its worth maximising harmony before you harmonise a religion as it speeds it up significantly. Therefore you also lose less harmony and it takes less years. If you also get the great project in korea as well as humanist ideas you can really speed things up.

ming is pretty op once you can get charter companies, just buy a province from some Tunis or something and then you can tributary then cause now you border them. very fun with the tribs to vassals too

Feel like the tributary system needs a revamp. It's good for raising meritocracy but for actual gains like mana and cash it's a bit crap since the gains are really small unless you can get many tributaries

Ming after acquiring reality stone(finishing the last mandate reform) be like: Convert tributary to "vassal" Ming after destroying the Manchus* Ming: You have my respect Manchu, when I'm done vassalizing the world...half of it would be still free from my rule

I just did another MIng, game, and actually if you make your leader a general before the event, you may get some good pips, and I also use him, just have to move the king around so he doesnt get into fights

On my try with Ming i avoided conquering provinces by giving them up to countries i took it after making them my tributaries, it is kind fun to plan most efficient way of progress you can between forcing tributaries and using diplomacy.I hadn't try exploration and it sounds like best choice now.

Actually, if you let the king be captured. The interregnum is 2 2 2 which is even better than 110. The new ruler usually is something over 333. Although Oirats seems to get stronger. But to me, a good player should manage to kill Oirats easily.

The great things is that the turn-tributary-into-vassal thing is not linked to Ming, but the emperor of China, so if you as a non-Ming nation, become emperor of China, you can do the same thing.
