Brilliant analysis. It's surprising this easy-understandable but comprehensive tactic book is written by such a young man. Book purchased and enjoyed the reading. Keep on the good works.

It's scary how far United and Arsenal have fallen in the past decade. Both sides lacked quality and neither side looked threatening in the final 3rd for most of the game.

Great analysis! It's sad that Ole does not have his midfielders drop into the pockets of space to complete the triangle of passing. I think he is mostly focused on catching teams on the counter with the pace of James and Rashford (especially against so called top 6 teams) and that's why the midfield isn't looking to drop too deep for build up play

I watched this 3 weeks late but still no thumps down for the video. That tells a lot about the quality of your analysis. Are you working in football industry? And how can i make a small donation to your channel?

Hey man, I'm trying to get into the football industry. I'm working as a youth coach at the moment coaching U12's and U17's, and I'm making these video's and writing for a couple of websites and magazines. Thank you so much for wanting to make a donation. I don't really have a donations link or anything. But you could buy my ebook (which is sort of a donation), or subscribe to my patreon and then unsubscribe after a month or so.

@Jethro Torczon Yeah, maybe Marche Funèbre by Chopin, except its played by someone who has never played piano would be better.🤣

2:22 I don't really understand this. Shouldn't Pogba move to that red space? I understand that someone should be in the red area, but for the purpose of linking back to Pogba who is in a parallel position seems like possession for possession's sake. On another point, in that frame, the Arsenal players appear mobile (save Aubameyang) and the MU players static.

Hey man, let me try to clearafy. It is a still image, so with 'live' footage it might be more understandable. But Guendouzi started with pressing Pogba, and now moves to press Lindelof. Leaving Pogba as the free player. Where Pogba to move to the red area there would be two problems. First of all, Guendouzi could adjust his run, which would still take out the pass to Pogba. Leaving Lindelof without any options. Second, this all happens in about 2 seconds. So Pogba won't have enough time to make the run into that space. Also having another player move into that space won't be possesion for the sake of possesion. You see as Guendouzi has moved from Pogba to Lindelof, Pogba is now the "free player". When another player drops into that space he will likely be followed by an opponent, as Arsenal won't allow a player to receive and turn there. With playing a lay-off to Pogba, United create a free player with his face to the opponents goal on the ball. While the 'link player' who receives will most likely be with his back to goal and an opponent pressing him. In addition you can see about 4 Arsenal attackers who would be 'played out' if Pogba were to receive. Which is an indication that it isn't possesion for possesion's sake (where you keep possesion without 'outplaying' any opponents).

Emery doesn't trust the players he's got and it seems the players don't trust each other either. When a wielder doesn't trust his own sword, it will end up hurting him. As long as there's no trust, they will keep nullifying each other.

What do you think of Chelsea?
@TheNextManager
@TheNextManager 4 жыл бұрын
Not great at all, but in their case it's explainable because of the transfer ban. Also Chelsea will have to become a steady club, not just going from short-term succes to short-term succes. So in the long run this might be good for them.

So you're telling me that Arsenal, who've only lost one match this season against Liverpool while making a decent performance are miles behind City and Liverpool, but "there is hope for Chelsea", a club that has dropped points against Sheffield United and Valencia at home? What an absolute clown
