Universal Parking Brake Cable Kit - Installation Video on the S10

In this video I continue to finish up the little things on the rear end. I purchased a universal brake line kit from Amazon and installed it. I hope this helps some of you out on ideas to install a universal parking brake cable kit.

Don't forget you will need (2) 10mm x 1.25 nylon locking nuts (nyloc nuts).

You won't find OEM for this style rear brake caliper anyway. You either have to find a universal setup like this or find someone to make a custom set.

@@2015_Rubicnn I know, which is one reason I subscribed to his channel. Most other channels are mainly theatrics, while this channel just gets straight to the point and I can relate to him.

@@yourpcmd I bought one of these kits for my 72 Camaro with a 9 inch swap. Kit came with these exact Cadillac calipers. If I would have known that, I probably would have just stuck with drum brakes. I just need to find cable ends that I can crimp on to the ends for the factory brackets.

I don't know if you found out already but you did not put the cable to the brake end correctly.

How did you get the spring in?

@derpy_llama6149 The spring will go in easy by hand and then just adjust the tension. When you look at the spring it has a flat piece of the spring one on end. This is the back of the spring. This faces toward the rear of the truck with the tang or bent clip looking piece to the inside toward the floor. The open end will go toward the front of the truck over the brake caliper line. It will fit just over the nut on the brake caliper line. You will set the tension on the brake line under the cab at the “y” shape connector. It has a threaded rod. I backed my rod out to make sure I had plenty of adjustment for later on if the cable stretches a little. Thanks for watching and I hopes this helped you out.
