One of our daughters is autistic. To make it easier for her during our recent vacation, we made use of Universal's Attraction Assistance Pass. In this video I look at who can get it, how do you get it and how do you use it.

Thank you for this video!! I never knew anything like this existed until my travel agent told me about it. We will be going inJuly and my son has autism. I am hoping this works for us bc even a 30 minute wait time in small spaces is pushing it!!!

I'm glad they have finally got their act together about their assistance pass. The first time I ask for one, their guest relations(had paperwork stating my condition and my son's) were very rude about it and I actually had to get a supervisor to help with it and basically, she told me she was just being very kind in letting me have one. Then the people at the rides did not know how to handle the pass, a couple of them signed in the wrong place so it looked like we had already had ridden. Since then I have always stayed at one of their premium onsite hotels that included their express pass to avoid that chaos and rudeness.

Sounds like you’ve had an awful experience in the past. I hope you have a better time with the pass in the future. We found the pass very useful, however a couple of the rides (Gringots and especially Hagrid’s) still had a lengthy and noisy wait which caused some distress.

I have used it at another park. It's a great resource for someone on the spectrum who gets overwhelmed when there's a quick transition like the getting on and off the rides. Gone through a lot to get to where I am it's nice to be treated well and enjoy the day with less stress and less likely a meltdown.

Thanks for a really useful video. I'm just wondering if you can advise roughly how many days you would need at Universal to get through most of the main attractions with this pass? We are going late August next year which I think is around the same time you were there judging from the date of the vid. Would really appreciate some help as not been to Universal before.

contrary clarey. Hi. Thanks for commenting. It would depend on your personal circumstances with regards to mobility and tolerance of crowds etc, but I would say if you arrived for park opening you could manage both parks in 2 days. It would be a rush though, and you would need to try and get the outdoor rides completed in the mornings, as when the weather breaks and it starts to rain, as it does almost every day in August, the outdoor rides close for the weather. To be on the safe side personally I wouldn’t try and do it in less than 3 days. Hope that helps. 😀

@@ThatllDoVlog Thanks! I was thinking three days would be about right, but didn't want to sacrifice too much Disney time ☺

Also if you're willing to spend a little coin, the PRIVATE VIP plan covers all your means and you completely skip every line in the park. You can actually ride every ride in the park, in just one day, with private VIP. Two of us are disabled (one physical and one autistic). We do find the private VIP worth the expense. The semi private vip makes you ride 8 things chosen by the park with no line, then you get fast passes for the rest of the day. It's a lot less expensive and the groups are small.

Hey! I just got an ankle cirgury and I’m planning to go to universal on February 6th. For obvious reasons I wouldn’t be able to wait in line, do you think I can ask for the AAP?

i have been an annual pass holder for two years and knew that there had to be something like this but never actually looked into it. i’m extremely anemic and standing in outdoor lines in the heat for extended periods can make me extremely dizzy and lightheaded and in some cases, pass out. most of the time when i go i just take a long break during the day in the air conditioning and with water to help but now that i’m aware of this, i’ll see if i can get a pass to use so i’m making the most of my trip and don’t feel like i’m wasting the time of whoever is with me, as i often feel bad for needing breaks. thank you for the informative video! if you don’t mind me asking, when i return to the park, is there a way to renew the pass? if so, how would i go about doing that?

Each pass is valid for up to 14 days. After the 14 days you need to visit guest services again to obtain another. Glad you found the video helpful. The pass is invaluable for our autistic daughter, it makes our vacation enjoyable for her rather than stressful. 😎

Disney has its own version which you use as part of the Disney Genie app. You can apply for the Disney one in advance via their website which can save you some time in the parks. I believe Sea World & Busch Gardens have their own versions too but I have no experience with those.

Hi! Help me with a question please? My son has down syndrome and he has only 5 years old. We are in four, Me, my wife, and my other 8 year old son. My 5 year son does not have enough height to access some rides, so my question is if I and my 8-year old son can get the priority line while my wife and my 5-year old son are waiting for us? If it was not possible, we will not able to go to the parks. Thank you!!
@ThatllDoVlog
@ThatllDoVlog Жыл бұрын
An interesting one as the owner of the pass (your son) should be there for its use. However I imagine you would be ok if you are using the rider swap facility on the rides. What this means is all four of you enter the express queue using the pass, then when you get to the ride your wife and son wait in the rider swap area until you and the older son complete your ride. At that point your wife could then ride while you wait with your son or you can all leave if your wife chooses not to ride.

@@ThatllDoVlog It`s that works to me! But... is there any possibility to he be blocked in the beginning of the line because of his height? Thank you for your video and clarifications!!

@tiredofthebull2670

That's been changing since lots of lazy garbage have been coming to videos oike this one to abuse the privilege. Times are going up for waiting and for those that are shown to be abusing it the employees can see that, they notify the attractions so those liars end up waiting even longer.
@Mawyman2316

@@tiredofthebull2670 can see it. Elaborate? You can’t always see a disability, so that sounds like a good way to fuck with disabled people because you percieve that they are ‘abusing’ this privilege

You use it to get one return time at a time, you wait for that time, you do the ride and then you can go to get another time. It takes a lot longer than doing the regular line.

Quite possibly. You would need to explain your issues to guest services who would ultimately make the decision. They are very helpful though.
