From 87North, the bare-knuckle producers of Nobody, John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, Bullet Train and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw comes a holiday action-comedy that says you should always bet on red.
When a team of mercenaries breaks into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage, the team isn’t prepared for a surprise combatant: Santa Claus (David Harbour, Black Widow, Stranger Things series) is on the grounds, and he’s about to show why this Nick is no saint.
The film also stars Emmy winner John Leguizamo (John Wick), Cam Gigandet (Without Remorse), Alex Hassell (Cowboy Bebop), Alexis Louder (The Tomorrow War), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones) and Beverly D’Angelo (National Lampoon’s Vacation franchise).
Directed by razor-edged Norwegian director Tommy Wirkola (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Dead Snow franchise), Violent Night is produced by 87North’s Kelly McCormick David Leitch and Guy Danella. The original screenplay is by Pat Casey & Josh Miller, the writers of Sonic the Hedgehog. The film’s executive producer is Marc S. Fischer.

I saw this last night. It's so good. It's violent and bloody, and yet somehow still an utterly sincere Christmas movie. As Santa might say, it's Christmas magic, but I'm not really sure how it works.

I love how pure Santa's heart is despite the killings. His two reasons to kill were 1) the girl asking for help was on the nice list and 2) everyone who put her family hostage were on the naughty list already. I really want to watch this!

Honestly I love this. Movies like this tend to be a psycho masquerading as Santa(silent night deadly night) or it's some sort of evil version like krampus. I love the idea that Santa just found himself in a house invasion, and is going to kick ass to protect the children. I hope the reindeer get to do some cool shit too.

Saw it last night. I’m not a fan of Christmas stuff but this movie is amazing. It surprisingly has just as much heart as it has laughs and ass-kicking! Go see it at the theater with a crowd asap. This will be a yearly watch from me. BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIE EVER

It's kind of refreshing to see a Santa movie where he isn't just some mystical man or an evil monster. He's just a dude who loves his job (and knows how to kick ass because I'm pretty sure he was viking in some legends)

Fatman was literally the first one I ever heard of, plus barely anyone saw that crap movie anyway. Plus Mel Gibson wasn't playing the real Santa Clause in that movie. It seems you are just looking for things to complain about, cuz badass Santa movies do not happen every year, not even close.

This is my favorite Christmas movie. It adds lore that makes the holiday cheerful for me again. I always knew you had it in you, Santa!

This is a really good movie. It’s so much fun with lots of action. The perfect action Christmas movie with comedy but it also made me cry. I give it a 8.5/10. David Harbour does an incredible job, he’s such a good actor and he played a really good Santa. And since I love Home Alone, I also loved Violent Night. Home Alone 1 & 2 are my all time favourite Christmas movies, so I really enjoyed Violent Night

Great action movie, great comedy, great use of xmas tunes. Bryan Adams "Christmas time" will never be the same again after the shed scene :D It's Die Hard x Home Alone but more violent. Loved it!

This movie was amazing, best Christmas movie I've seen as an adult. Insane how the movie is so graphically violent but so heartwarming too. No spoilers but what Santa does to "the Grinch" or "Scrooge" was graphic but brilliant! My other favorite part was when Santa placed something in the dudes pants and said something like, "here's a stocking stuffer for you". Highly recommend this movie and hope this becomes a Christmas series. 👍

Took my father to watch this film yesterday and we both had a damn good time. Absolute new Christmas classic that manages to be light-hearted and self-aware as much as it is violent and fun-to-watch. Some moments were a little too intense on the graphic content, but overall I would recommend this film to anyone who wants to have a good time.

I actually had a similar idea where yes, some very violent guys perennially come for Santa. You think he's not bad arse, you think over the years he hasn't seen everything any shmoe has tried on him, you don't think he'd totally murk your arse? That was my line of thinking. Decades, perhaps hundreds of years, trained hunters, soldiers, special ops guys, of course a few Martians must have tried to shoot their shot at him. Now I'm thinking, "Shit. I could have at least written a short story on it...

@@blagus3743 I watched one of those with my nephew and I remember being pleasantly surprised that it was probably the best video game movie I had ever seen I was like “seriously sonic?”… Like we’ve had hitman, assassin’s creed, tomb raider, Resident Evil…all this awesome source material and the best video game movie has been Sonic… But if you know they can turn a sonic movie into something really entertaining than this is gonna be a piece of cake for them
