So aside from the issues with the entire film, being very human faces put on animals to make these freaky hyper realistic humanoid cats, mice, and cockroaches, not to mention the very distinctly human lips, feet, and hands (ughhh shudders*) WHY CAN THE GUMBIE CAT UNZIP HER FUR?! 😵‍💫

It’s a befuddling mix of unintentionally sexualising Rebel Wilson as the Gumbie Cat to an occasionally uncomfortable degree (there were definitely some adult cinema angles in there) and not exploiting the naturally carnal charms of Jason Derulo which would have been so right for the Rum Tum Tugger (his catsuit and choreography is really not doing justice to his seriously buff body; I was expecting a full Magic Mike routine)
