@11:15 Does he say all 4 elements are in the Platinum group? Because that’s definitely wrong - Osmium is Group 8, Rhodium and Iridium are Group 9. Only Palladium is in the same group as Platinum which is Group 10.

This is the first time I agreed with Paxo's WTF snort (11:01) before he declared 'Van Gogh' the answer. Thanks Psi, no need to apologize, just glad you are uploading this season of UC :) Enjoyed Wimbledon after Murray got knocked out ;P Bothers me that TIME is a crucial factor in determining the winning team. Last season saw the deserving SOAS team (among others) lose coz of a few less seconds to answer bonuses and now a repeat last Mon when Ulster lost to Edinburgh coz of a few less seconds to answer bonuses. S4701 had 19 (less 1 unanswered) Starter questions while 02 had 22 (less 2). If exactly the same number of (answered) questions were asked per episode it would seem fairer overall rather than the current format where Paxo can vary the speed (he sometimes does and does not) towards the end. Saw an article where the BBC UC crew admitted that the episodes were not shot in one sitting but often unanswered questions were edited out, toilet/water/makeup breaks etc.

If I was ever going to write an open letter to the BBC here's the changes I'd recommend to make University Challenge more accessible: 1. Make the questions less wordy and more easy 2. Include questions about pop culture and have pop songs in the music round 3. Have university students who look like they're in their twenties and enjoy themselves; half of them look so old they might as well have come on wearing togas 4. Get rid of Jeremy Paxman. He has about as much personality as a brick.
