As an extra note, the term 'drum and bass' can be traced back to the 70s where it was originally sometimes used to describe the dub versions of reggae songs. The use of the term then expanded and evolved over time until it started to become more associated with the more rave type sounds familiar today.

I think it's an iffy category of question as genres have very fuzzy boundaries and are often assigned by music journalists. But yeah, Goldie was there for the start of Drum and Bass too. IIRC.
