Academically and socially especially socially, UofA stacks up with the rest of the big schools in the country. That being said, maximizing your time in college includes minimizing the drawbacks. The choices you make at the beginning of the semester can inhibit how much fun and success you have later on. Put yourself in the driver’s seat, make the most out of your wildcat years, and avoid these 5 things especially Fridays. We’ve all been there, it’s the beginning of the semester and this is the semester you’re going to be a morning person.

Never buy books from a college bookstore. Every book has a free pdf available online.

U of A alum from back in the 90s, in the days before students brought cell phones and laptops to class. 1) If I'm not mistaken, sometimes large lectures and 8am classes are unavoidable depending on your major. I did better in those massive general ed lecture classes sometimes than I did in some of the courses in my major! If you have to be on Facebook during a lecture, you're not a serious student and I'm not gonna cry for you when you get a bad grade on your midterm! 2) Living within 1-2 miles of campus is absolutely best, and housing options for students in the surrounding neighborhoods have doubled since my years as a student. Tucson has always had a decent bus system and now there's the streetcar, which I wish they would have had in the 90s, because it's awesome! 3) Absolutely agree about doing most of your food shopping and eating off campus, it WILL save you money. 4) Tucson is just as much a retirement town as it is a college town, and a lot of snowbirds are U of A alumni who retire to Tucson and come back for the sporting events and Homecoming - I plan to be one of those old people! 5) Don't party your way through college. Take your academics seriously. Your future employers - and employees - will thank you 20 years from now.

Not quire following the "dont drive anywhere" tip. Kind weird to let other people driving slowly prevent you from going somewhere.

University of Arizona Instructs Students to Say ‘Ouch!’ when offended. Poor little things actually buy videos with mommy and daddy's money ranging from $600.00 to $3000.00 to learn how to queef and grunt "OUCH" out their va-jay-jays. Isn't that special?
