Diantha's theme is criminally underrated. I feel like people associate the song with the battle itself, which is fair enough, but take the music on its own out of context and it's one of the best.

You know, I'm surprised I wasn't scared the fuck out when Gary's Champion theme came on when I was a kid. Granted, I did it when I was under the covers with a worm light, keeping quiet, I don't know if I had headphones or not. But seriously, your rival almost maniacally declaring himself the most powerful Trainer in the world followed by a chaotic spiraling descent, finished with those stark, unnerving notes? I can see the Stravinsky influence. (For those wondering who that guy is, he's the one who wrote the piece from Fantasia with the dinosaurs. Yes, the dinosaurs fighting with blood and all in front of children.) 5-year edit: Oh my God I misspelled Stravinsky's name XD

i personally think that the 1st,2nd,and 4th generation had the best themes. They share something in common, they instill a type of dread they tell you "you are fighting a world class trainer someone who is absolutely peerless" it asks the question "can you really win?" the others have a feeling of hope and overcoming something which works in it's own way but lessens the feeling of power that should radiate from a champion

People have talked about how the earlier ones feel more serious and more fitting for a final boss, but I think Iris' is really fitting too. It really shows how much she loves Pokemon and loves battling. Her music is a non-stop rollercoaster, and if you slow down for a second, she's going to destroy you with a smile on her face. I also think the kinda space feeling it has also makes it feel a bit like you're going against the universe, or some cosmic force. At the same time though, it also feels like a celebration of how far you've come and how strong you are now. She's inviting you to enjoy the battle with her, she wants to have an all out battle with a worthy opponent. It just really seems fitting for the series and her character.

The champion theme from RSE and ORAS is MY personal favorite battle theme in the entire franchise

At least that is what this theme is telling through its clever use of mixing of old and new songs as well as remixes throughout make this song the ulimate kickass champion battle theme! better than the other medley I watched, which did Gen 5 dirty by excluding Alder. Iris’ segment was also less then half the length of Cynthia’s, Steven’s, or Lance/Red’s, despite her actual battle theme being the longest of the champions featured (Champions from Gens 1 - 6)

In black and white, Alder lost to N before the main protagonist gets to fight him, so I forgot what his theme was like.

a strange thing is that when they remade champion lance's theme, they slowed down a little bit. So, when you create a mashup between the gsc version with other version of the theme, you either have to, or slow down the original theme from gold siver & crystal, wich is what pepole that make mashups do, Or you speed up the remakes, wich was what you did and how i prefer.

I want an extend of the second version of Blue's Theme

Blue's Theme, Red/Lance's Theme, and Cynthia's Theme, in my opinion, had the best theme. They have this intimidating effect you, makes you wary, and effectively succeeds in instilling fear and excitement for the final battle. They just scream final boss. I didn't get that feeling at all from the other themes. But I also enjoyed Iris's theme. It sounds so fun and lively.

Contrary to what other people say the music after gen 4 are my favorites (except alder).

Ive always struggled hard when battling Cynthia. Its always the Garchonp that throws me off course. I won out of pure luck against her garchomp with a level 70 Empoleon, level 65 Luxray, level 66 Staraptor, level 80 Bibarel, level 74 Raichu, and a level 68 Clefable

I like how the blue theme remix medley was a throwback to the original one that was made.

Even to this day, even with BDSP, Cynthia's theme is just "POV: you are about to get rinsed".

I was so disappointed by the Alola champ theme as it starts so godlike but the theme doesn't stay.

Any plans to update this? New games are out!

I feel like Pokémon Company's stance towards a champion fight has changed dramatically. Gen 1-4 it was seen as the final fight before you beat the game and Gen 5 onwards it's been a fun battle for beating the game. They made champions in 5 onwards way too easy, Cynthia was the last Champion I had any trouble beating. And it shows in the music too, Gen 1-4 is serious battle and 5 onwards sounds like a fun brawl between friends rather than a fight between the best of the best. Sun and Moon just sums this up completely as the theme for the Champion fight doesn't even sound like a battle theme.

What's your guy's team? (Mine assumes the player has close to Lv 90-95 pokemon at the end game.)

I think Steven's theme doesn't feel like a champion theme, not as much as the others. Sure, it's good and catchy, but it's not the theme I expect when I meet the strongest trainer in the region, whose identity was a surprise if I remember correctly. Yeah it's good but it's not "Special" like the others, it's good for a boss, maybe for elite4 too but I can't see it too well for a champion. Same with Alder, but this time it's not the strongest trainer in the region, we have already beaten the league once when we face him, and there are Getchis and N who beated him before, that's why the music is good for a post game boss (and kinda suit his character too)
