Unlocking the Old Testament Part 37 - Isaiah 1

David Pawson shows the surprising parallel between the chapters of Isaiah and the composition of the entire Bible. Isaiah is the Bible in miniature. But parts of it are not well known. Jesus referred to Isaiah more than any other scripture, as did Paul. David provides insights from the historian Josephus and other Jewish tradition. Isaiah was the greatest prophet in word, as Moses and Elijah were great in deed. From the time of his encounter with God in the temple, Isaiah referred to the Lord as ‘the Holy One of Israel’. He had a difficult task because God had warned him that he was to preach but the people would not heed. His resultant book has been an inspiration to generations. He preached during the reign of 4 kings, and when the king was good, they won their battles as God was with them. Isaiah emphasized both justice and mercy. The first section of 39 chapters is national, looking at Israel and the small nations around her, and God is pictured as fire; part 2 is international, looking at Israel and all the nations of the world, and God is seen as Father. Whereas the first part majors on judgment, the second on comforting with good news.

I have David's book. His presentation is EXACTLY what is in his book. I read the biblical book in his book first then come here to hear it again but in spoken words. It makes it sink in better this way for me.

I first heard Mr David Pawson's Bible Study series in 2006 when I first got his 66 DVDs set. Since then, it is an amazing journey in my Bible studies. Glory to God.

A bit out of date now, in terms of audio recording technology etc, but this man, David Pawson, has some excellent teaching material within his recorded messages. I remember listening to some of his messages back in the 1980's, but only just found his messages on KZfaq. So I am using his teachings to complement my personal Bible studies at the moment, currently looking at Isaiah.... Very worth giving time to listen and watch his teaching messages and make notes along the way. 😊

David Pawson did the exact same thing for me around the same time...Just came back to listen to Isaiah again bc there are not too many good (this type of teaching anyway) teachings. Anyway hopefully you found Dr. Michael Heiser or the Bible Project while digging deeper! The Bible Project classroom has free online classes that has helped me tremendously! Definitely should check out if you haven’t already. ❤️🛐❤️🛐❤️✝️

I'm sorry that was a long time ago . I think I need to listen to it all again. I've learnt a little more since , I dont think I could distinguish between. Basically of course 7 is the perfect number , or the number of perfection. God created the world in seven days. 6 is the incomplete number and associated with the devil as in 666. 40 is an important number , as in the Israelites spending 40 years in the wilderness. Jesus being in the wilderness 40 days and nights . 3 is also important as in the Trinity, Jonah spending 3 days in the whale , and Jesus being in the grave 3 days . But if I go on I'd be repeating what I've learned from Jacob Prasch , much more recently. Carry on with David , you will learn a lot from him . Then I would suggest Jacob Prasch , who has an awful lot to teach us , especially about the end times. So important at the moment. But I'm so glad I listened to David it helped to give me groundwork for Jacob . Be careful who you listen to . As Jacob says so many teachers are apostate now . Thank God for the few true teachers left in these last days when church going is restricted. Derek Prince is also good . God bless you K

Great, wonderful teaching as usual from David ❤👍👍👍. The ONLY quibble I might have (just a small one) is that in chapter 53 of Isaiah the middle verse is NOT the one David quoted (v.5)....he said something about a chapter being "one verse out", but even if we accept that ch. 53 were to have 11 verses instead of 12, the middle verse would still be VERSE 6 not verse 5....but, of course it's something not so important, it's almost the centre verse and what David is saying here is amazing!😃....

Lord this is amazing but troubling ...why the double effect from the word of God ? It HARDENS some wjen they hear ? I KNOW You are good ALWAYS . And so this hiding of truth from some souls is such a mystery to me .... I know if I ask You will explain it to me , so WHY , God ?

Paul explains in the New Testament...it is a sign...of His return. Yeshua speaks of this as well. Hopefully the LORD has already answered your question BUT either way The Bible Project is another AWESOME teacher for those searching for the Truth. They have free online classes from Dr. Tim Mackie. How do we know the chapter breaks and verses are not inspired? Maybe God's hand was at play all along...

Simply because some of the chapter /verse divisions are clearly in the wrong place As a grid reference to help you locate something - it's helpful but when studying the Bible, a chapter division in wrong place impacts meaning - a new chapter can in some places imply something new/different ....when it was "intended to be a continuation, not an end and start "

The prophet and apostle Paul was beyond Isaiah as well was John the baptizer. Poor Mr Dawson hasn't read Paul's epistles or he would know that the "dispensation of grace" revealed to Paul by the ascended Lord would know it was a "Mystery hid in God not revealed in other ages " Eph.3:9...therefore Isaiah cannot be prophesy about the Church age or a miniature bible. Noah preacher of righteousness for 120 years.

If Mr Dawson is poor then you must be absolutely destitute, which, spiritually, you clearly are! 2 Timothy 2;14. If you conclude that Mr Dawson has not read Paul's epistles then you must be as bankrupt intellectually as you are spiritually. Tragically, part of David's message is intended for your ears although, paradoxically, you can't hear it; Isaiah 6:9 is directed precisely towards your heart Tim. Like untold millions of others of this degenerate, decadent and Godless generation you will be a victim of His wrath which is what we are experiencing in these days. My He have mercy on your soul.
