you can legally carry a folding knife that doesn't lock within the UK as long as the blade is less than 3 inches, so please save your nails and get a small pen knife. I'm sure I saw a Swiss army knife many years ago with a clock on it just in case your game watch, phone and watch all fail. if not there is definitely a Swiss army knife with a USB stick that could suit your needs :)

There is actually a very good UK-based EDC KZfaq channel run by a fellow called Jon Gadget. He generally provides US and UK links to the items he recommends. He is well worth checking out.

How about making a smartphone app out of a "What The Wife Said" notebook Russel, so when I (i.e.)browse watches it would pop up on some models and bring your wife's wise sartorial advise to my attention? I can already foresee some serious money saving scenarios too! 😉

I wish there was a swiss army knife that had watch tools (case back opener, spring bar tool, etc.) I'd love that

There is such a thing! Not sure if still in production but it definitely had a case back opener. Go google. Also if someone out there wants to make a titanium or steel spring bar remover to fit into the tweezers/ toothpick space in the scales (handle) that would be a must -buy.

Nice show! I carry a SAK, the Huntsman model, somewhere on me. It helps me reminisce since my mom bought me my first SAK (a Champion) and it comes in very handy in innumerable situations. I appreciate your attitude, though, "that's what nails are for!" And... I just might have to get that new Walkman!

Great vid. Btw for opening packages, I really suggest getting a keychain multitool, something like True Utility KeyTool. Bottle opener, small screwdriver, pointy end sharp enough to cut the tape or open the box and I think it should be legal even in UK. As for my personal EDC: Xiaomi mi 12 Ontario Rat 2 pair of earpods ( podcasts and music is something I can't live without) small Baseus power bank and as for a time piece now it is a Certina ds-2 turning bezel/ Still in a honeymoon phase so wear it daily.

Russ!! Where's your Victorinox Swiss Army knife!! I've carried one for the majority of my 40+ year life! The number of times it comes in useful is off the charts. Any 91/93mm model is perfectly legal here in the UK with no reason needed to carry it, they are completely non-threatening and are beautifully made. Get on it!!!

Non-locking slipjoint knives (line SAKs) are fine

@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR I am in a job where I know this to be 100% true 😉, so please take my word for it... blade has to be under 3inches long and it must be a non-locking folder (slipjoint). If this is the case then you can carry it whenever and wherever you like in the UK without the need for any excuse. So all 91mm and 93mm (medium) Victorinox knives are absolutely fine. You will often find that online stores will actually say if knives are UK legal. For example try Heinnie Haynes or Pocket Dump. Good luck my friend, I'd love you to get the use and enjoyment out of them that I do!!

+1 for the Secrid wallet. It’s the only wallet I’ve carried for years and years and absolutely love it. It’s the OG for that style of the flip up card wallets.

Rains Trial Mountaineer backpack Whatever watch Keys don't need a knife (I see so many knives with an EDC and I've literally never needed one) Macbook Fuji X-T2 (basically got a 18mm f2 glued on) Olympus OM1 (if I have film. 28mm F2.8 on it) batteries for phone/camera, wires. Miyoo Mini. That's generally what I carry if I take a bag.

I always have a Fischer Space Pen in my pocket, wallet, and wear a watch. Otherwise, we dont carry the same stuff it seems. Couldn't get by without a knife, I carry three.

For me: Left pocket: phone Right Pocket: keys, wallet, Casio Digital Diary. (Can't be hacked, handy for writing things down. Basically an electronic sticky-note pad.) Wrist: one of the three watches from my collection currently in rotation, depending on the situation.

Nice kit Russ. You can carry a pocket knife that’s under 3 inches blade length and doesn’t lock and you’re good to go in the UK.

Being in the U.S. I carry a folding knife, sometimes a Leatherman or Gerber Micra tool, a tiny flashlight, and since I have a concealed weapon permit I can carry a pistol if I choose to. Most of the time I have a Casio watch on also. Thanks for sharing your EDC and have a great afternoon! 🙏🏼

There are plenty of none lockable legal pocket knives you can carry. I couldn't cope without a pocket knife or multitool (required for work purposes) I do like an EDC video.

Oh, I carry a little medical kit in a metal tin (like Altoids one, with straps, little scissors, sanitizer etc), a powerbank with cables, an ebook reader, eventually a tablet, phone, another watch just in case the G-Shock will die (it's a GW-M5610, I think I'll die before him, but just in case), a little emergency kit (again in a tin box, with lighter, cyanoacrilic glue, needles, tin foil, a little candle etc), keys (of course with at least 4 I don't know what they could open), usb pendrive, pens aaaaand... And I think it's enough, I feel like a soldier in war every time
