Just be yourself and if they f*ck with you, then you know they're real and that's how the purest relationships are formed. If they keep asking for favors more often than actually supporting you and want nothing but good things to happen to you, then that's when you know they are toxic and fake. The whole point of a relationship is to help each other evolve, overall. I'm not a DJ, but I produce and whenever I collab with another producer it's like a learning experience every time because we ask each other how we made a certain sound and share techniques. And if we are happy with the result and upload it on soundcloud we are basically sharing our followers with each other too and giving each other a little exposure.

Can answer that for you! DJs are usually extremely friendly towards each other, since we all share the same passion. We love hearing other people's creative process and are very eager to learn more from each other. And yeah there are some DJs who are an exeption and don't really get along well, but in the end everyone's in the music business, not high school. If you don't like someone you just keep your mouth shut about it and keep on going. No need for useless drama. Hope that helped!

What she said about Can your best friend be your manager was spot on! I've seen it a lot where the best friend starts as the artists manager and aren't able to elevate their skill set with the artists rise in prominence. They should pivot to tour or road management at that point.

How do you avoid ear fatigue when you have to play at so many shows? I know you use sound canceling ear buds, but how loud do you make the music when you put them in? I mean I bring ear plugs when I go to concerts to protect my ears, but it is ridiculous how loud the sound is in venues and clubs. I know they do it so people don't hear the echoes and stuff like that, but still.

In my opinion, when an artist starts to grow, he/she is gonna need a manager for sure because the artist only has to take care of the creative process and focus on doing what he does only as an artist because becoming big and not having a manager, well it can get really tiring, even Afrojack once said that for the first year of his career he was taking care of the business side and the music side as well and he got to a point where he started considering giving up until he started to get managed, then things got easier for him because he was able from that point on to focus more on his music and his sets

I think this was verry useful. Thanks for this vlog! Guess I'll be watching it a few times on repeat. One thing that keeps bugging me is how to build up a "fan base" through social media. It's quitte hard to find time in between the creative process. This is personal, I know. But in my case, I'm that kind of "nerd" who is constantly working in my studio. That means, when I'm done mostely means I'm too tired to put in time on social media. Nex to that, booking do not fall from the skies. So, how to fill that gap between the moment you actually need an manager and when you're still in a starting phase?

What's up Luke, this is what I appreciate so much your channel, you share with us all your knowledge and your team knowledge, that's very cool. I certainly think that we need keep our minds focused on the creative things, and if you don't have a person who help you with the details of the event, your mind will be crash and the creativity will get to the trash, so I think it's so important the managers job's.
