1. I'm not the kpop Stan of my house so the knowledge comes mostly from my family. That being said, you shouldn't wish for a group to go back to their older style just cause you don't like the new stuff. Bts puts a lot of themselves into their work, and they experiment a lot. Styles change and evolve with people and that might not always suit one person, and that's fine. But saying they should return to an old style kindof isn't fair. 2. Whitewashing in general is a problem all over the world, especially with the colorism in Asia. It's a problem regardless of the "origin" of the "pale = pretty". Ie, it's either eurocentric standard of beauty based on being white, which is rooted in racism, or an economkc standard based on status, which is rooted in outdated class systems. Either way, it needs to be looked at by how it affects people, both idols and not, today. If a celebrity wants to cover and sunscreen and stay pale, their choice, good on them. If they want to be tan, they shouldn't have to have a reason or excuse. It should just be accepted as the norm to wear your own skin. 3. No opinion 4. There's a lot of pressure for idols to constantly dye their hair. Again, if they want to, great. If they don't, it's on the company/management. I do feel bad for their scalps tho. 5. Again we circle back to what the idol may or may not want. If they're uncomfortable with sexy concepts and lots of skin, they should absolutely not have to do so. But if they wanna go all out and be "strippers" as some other commenter say?? Fuck yeah! Go for it! They work so hard to keep in shape and their bodies "perfect" they deserve to show it off. Hell, id say a performance where someone can see every muscle movement would be way harder and HUGE props to anyone with the skill and confidence to do so. I also want to make a side not of the ridiculous body standards that idols are held to. The fact that multiple well known celebrities have had documented cases of dangerous eating disorders, anorexia, and likely body dysmorphia, shows how bad the idol system in general can me for people's mental health. Which is why my main argument for a lot of this is "are they comfortable and willing to do so". If they are, they should not be shamed for that. If they aren't, the companies and management should be held accountable. 6. No real opinion, I'll just say that contest shows like this tend to have relatively predatory contracts. Obviously I came because of the thumbnail but I wasn't expecting some of these takes to be so bad.

Tear is one of /the/ best albums BTS have. All the songs are perfect with the concept even with different sounds. Tear is definitely one of my top 3 albums.

BTS simply never go with the same concepts visuals and music twice... They're always moving forward experimenting with new genres and stories.... I adore hyyh but ly series is as gorgeous so is Mot7 and now BE that has another level of lyricism.

I disagree with the first one. Tear is my cry song. I lost my sister-like aunt at 2019 February and couldn't attend her funeral. I went to school like a zombie after the day I got the news. I don't know why I did it and had an attack there. Crying, mumbling things, shivering according to my friends. I don't remember what I exactly did that day but I remember getting out of the school with Tear on repeat, full volume and walking down and up between the two bus stops, head and heart empty. Now I can't listen that song without crying. It helped me got through her death. One of my favorite song.

I agree about the skin showing being distracting and off putting. Like they are singers, not strippers. Companys shouldn't make them wear sexy outfits and if the men in K-pop(Kai) could keep their shirts on, I would be grateful. Also styling underage idols in booty shorts and crop tops(ITZY HELLO) is fucking child exploitation and no one talks about it or cares. Also in the most recent Pentagon video, they have a member in a leather crop top and he looks straight out of a BDSM video, I really doubt he is comfortable being seen by thousands if not millions of people in that, dancing. I really enjoyed this video, honestly liked that u had unusual and real opinions. I didn't know and had never heard about that hair dying opinion. I had never thought about it being painful. I wish u had explained even more honestly. I've only had my hair dyed fully once in my life and I remember it being a little bit of burning on the scalp as it set in, but that was it. So I would love to know more about what lots of hair dye does to someone's hair. I also liked your comment about the white skin thing, I do think kpop should be more accepting of darker shades of skin but the Korean society at large does favor WHITE WHITE skin so no one should shame an idol for wearing such makeup because that is their culture. Though I would love to see more natural skin with less cakey white makeup. And if an idol did come out and perform with their natural darker skin, they should be totally embraced and celebrated for being confident in their natural skin shade. Also u right. Bts' old music was better but I think this album seven is gonna slap. Black Swan while it doesn't sound like their old stuff reminds me of the deeper, more artistic BTS that I felt Persona lacked( although I think the point of the persona album was that the songs were artificial like a 'persona' they wore) but still, not the biggest fan

Wow! How conservative and toxic a person can be? You're the most toxic person. And showing skin doesn't make anyone stripper. It's your filthy eyes who sees like that and only thinks of bdsm stuff when seeing idols like that. Those who aren't filthy like you accept the way artist dress. It's their choice to dress like that. Singers have choice to wear what they want. Look at western artists like Ariana, olivia, taylor, beyonce who show skin yet sing. So you can still sing while showing skin. And wearing shorts is part of korean culture. So it's not Itzys fault. People like you shame people for wearing what they like, how embarassing. Wearing short clothes isn't bad but having filthy thoughts and getting distracted by short clothes is bad. And whitewashing is their culture but the culture is wrong and contradicts with black culture and anti racism. It promotes racism and shaming of black skin. It glorifies the idea that white is beautiful and black is ugly and hence leading to racism.

I feel like with white washing it’s just ughh. Like throughout history in Asian countries white or pale skin is seen as beautiful and something all people should achieve. In all honesty I’ve seen so many idols start embracing having their natural skin color out and so many makeup brands in Korea started making darker foundations for boys and girls that love their brown and tan skin. So tbh it’s not us trying to make them be seen as beautiful in our eyes it’s them embracing the natural color of their skin.. tbh it’s nice to see

LMAO IT'S LITERALLY COLORISM???? you sound so . have u ever empathized with a single darkskinned person in ur entire life. given em one (1) thought. sigh. also ??? koreans and asians exist in every shape and color??? there are a wide variety of korean and generally asian skin tones due to history and family lineage and profession/historical familial professions and theyre all equally beautiful ??? implying that lighter is better is literally racism and colorism. making them feel insecure about their natural skintone and whitewashing them pictures or fancams is literally erasing their identity and looks and implying that any darker skintones are bad???? implying that their natural beauty is not enough, that no matter how good looking you might be, youre not *truly* """beautiful""" until u have light skin. it's not about "forcing someone to adhere to your beauty standards" esp bc people aren't over here editing idols' faces to be WAY darker than they naturally are, and if people are doing that, THAT'S wrong and THAT'S an example of pushing your beauty standards onto someone else. but that is an extremely rare occurrence, esp when compared to how often idols get whitewashed. please Think one (1) time before u open ur mouth lol this isnt a kpop opinion this is just u being ignorant

number 2 is one of the most ignorant kpop opinions i have heard, if you actually do your research on white washing you'll know that whitewashing is rooted in both racism and colorism the reason why many asians want to be pale is because of colonization. colonization showed us that being pale means that you're beautiful and rich etc. white washing is one of the biggest problems in the world especially in asia. if people want to be pale idc but it gets wrong when they see pale as only beautiful and see dark skinned or tan as disgusting etc

hakyeon literally says he loves his pale skin and hosts, his members (until a letter campaign from ifans rly) and his own fansites will them him through their words or actins that he's too dark or its not nice. they will literally whitewash him until he's as light as other members. yeah that sounds like an ego boost. definitely sounds super healthy to have something youre born with and you like being repeatedly implied to be weird or bad.

I agree with the whitewashing thing. The entire asia prefers whiter skin and is not a fan of tanned skin. So basically if they are putting people in the entertainment media, they want the bestest of best tbh. So if they fit all standards but is a bit tanner they will obviously be whitewashed to fit the taste. It's really normal and most of the whitewashing is even done by fansites. Even idols whitewash themselves on their own selfies lol.

Don't generalize Asia. Bangladesh, india and pakistan has hell number of beautiful tanned skin celebrities. So saying that Asian companies recruit white is wrong. And whitewashing leads to racism. It glorifies the idea that white is beautiful and black is bad, which leads to racism.

the ignorance you have disgusts me so much don't speak for asia. if 1 you aren't educated and 2 if you aren't asian. if you are actually educated you would know that many asians are against the pale beauty standard in both asia and outside asia
