In this Unreal Engine 5 blueprints tutorial for beginners, you'll get off to a great start with a comprehensive introduction to UE5. I'll show you how to navigate the viewport and a few important tabs, add content to your project, navigate and begin familiarising yourself with blueprints and variables, create a moving platform blueprint and a lightning pad blueprint, and begin familiarising yourself with animation blueprints.

@@PitchforkAcademy any chance we’ll see a tutorial on simple vehicles? There’s plenty of tutorials on how to make “GTA” type cars, but nothing on the classic tanks from Star Wars Battlefront 2004. Either way hope to see more great stuff from you in the future!

finished this and was able to do a couple of things on my own at the end, i think this only needs one addition, cover the input system that was recently changed, nothing that a google search cant fix but i had to stop in order to understand how to change the movement keys

Free for the month assets video might not be a great idea. Because only the time when the stuff is free is when the views might be up. Other than that people will have to buy stuff to follow the tutorial

Great tutorial watched all of it. However, would it be possible for you to increase the bitrate or compress the video less? The text becomes a bit blurry, I'm even on a 32in 1440p monitor but maybe it would be sufficient if the font size was larger in the ui somehow?

I recently switched to new editing software that allows for 1440p export and the videos are looking much better. Sorry about that! You live and you learn. 🙂

I uninstalled UE5.2 because it was so unstable. Other than that, it was mostly a joy to work with. I was able to learn blueprints fairly quickly, comming from GDScript in Godot, and a bit of Python knowledge. C++ however, is not something I want to mess with. I am wondering if 5.4 is worth installing, or is it still unstable? When I mean unstable, I mean it crashing for no reason, or because of user error, or because you were trying to make curve files in the curve editor. The other reason I uninstalled, is that I was not looking forward to baking a finished project; especially when my game was small and simple. I am happy to be rid of Visual Studio.

It crashes still but not NEARLY as much as before and usually it’s predictable (like importing tons of stuff then alt tabbing, oops. As long as you save a lot it’s fine. Also did you mean UE5 at the end? I’ve never had VScode crash on me even on big projects. C++ or python. Even on my super out of date laptop I can compile anything fine without VS crashing, but UE5 would smoke that piece of junk lol.
