Unreasonable Fighting Game Combos | "Will It Kill?"

Can you guess if these fighting game combos are going to kill?
"Will it Kill?" is a show about funny fighting game clips, throwing rocks, betting fake points, mean girls, pathetic cards, and giving thanks. We'll show a fighting game clip and pause it on one of the hits of a combo. You have to vote on whether the combo will kill or not. There are no drops, Time-outs don't count, and we try to get as close to optimal as possible. Next month we're taking a break and in the new year we're considering ways to shake up the show, so feel free to suggest stuff.

sajam going with a chatter identifying the game based on one second of audio and then revealing it's a different game is in nearly every WIK and it gets me every time

Fun fact for Sajam about the UNI clips: characters do not die at 0hp in this game, funnily enough. They die at -1. So when you're looking for the pixel on a uni clip, just remember: there may not actually even be a pixel there.

As sappy as this is, I really do want to thank Sajam and crew for the last year. Heck, the last 3 years since WIK started even. Hard to believe it's been nearly that long. Ever since ep3 with "Fate/Unlimited Codes", the very first clip I ever submitted that made it on the show, I've been hooked. Regularly submitting as much as I could damn near every WIK since. And now I've gone on a two year streak with this somehow. I don't know if it's just dumb luck or I managed to hit some sort of niche but someone on board thought they were amusing enough for the show. I just wanted to share the dumb fighters I like and maybe talk about them in the comments. And geez, what a yearly finale to retire on. Didn't think I'd get six whole clips in at the last moment. Could not have asked for anything better.

We suspect you actually go out of your way to watch vods of old kusoge, looking for wacky WIK clips to submit, and we appreciate that quite a bit! Without your submissions, we basically don't get to show Chaos Code or Arcana Heart or anything like that, and our second halves would be a lot more boring. A lot of our awesome second half clips come from you and trust us, we recognize and remember the name. There's no doubt you have the most submissions that have made the show.

I believe that clip (or one of the unlimited codes clips) have the damage setting on not default, which makes it skewed.

17:39 Hyde's 7-hit B DP did a grand total of 22 damage, which is hardly anything compared to the health totals. Seth has 9500 HP total, and probably had barely over 5206 HP at the start of the combo. I swear the thicker part of the white border of the HP bar is actually hiding a little more HP. Great show as always and happy holidays!

Another satisfying year of Will It Kill. Went 11-9, first half was murder, but I unlocked in the second half to win back the 100k I'd lost. That personal element was so distracting that I need this video to appreciate the clips! I was (one of) the half-time Smash clip submitter(s). Out of everything I had, that was the clip to show. Happy holidays and happy new year to Sajam and the crew. Whether or not there's another highlight reel, I look forward to Will It Kill's return in 2024.

Korone's face is just perfect for meme material (referring to the idol showdown clip). Also love seeing arcana heart 3 stuff, as it is usually free wins, because I actually played the game a ton. Their little "assists" you see in the corner affect health, but also certain characters are just way more likely to kill off stray hits. Like dorothy is mostly low-damage, but she also barely had bar. Maori is fairly high damage at times, but also had 2 bars. That said I kind of prefer those clips over having to bust out the magnifying glass on sf6 level 3s lol. Even if I Only got the aki one wrong.

Pro-Tip for SF6: Lvl 3/Critical Art always has a minimum amount of damage it does that's not affected by scaling.

@@tabkg5802In fact, bursting in the middle is a death sentence waiting to happen, as combo scaling resets, but Sidewinder keeps its Clean Hit Bonuses from previous Sidewinders. (Idk shit about GGXXAC+R, but I have seen a clip like that I think)

@@SyRose901 yeah it does hence why many Sol bros practice burst baits for juice damage afterwards (IB/Slashbacking the burst allows for raw sidewinder punish which is very much ggs) Remember Lucid Button Masher did a video on this so maybe his channel? Albeit this combo being a thing i saw on Noah_Jd's channel

I went 9-11. Second half kicked my ass hard. Just wanted to thank Sajam for all the great WIK this year. This series is always fun and I look forward to it. I didn't get a chance to get to this one right away but this was a fun episode. Can't wait to see what you cook up next year.

My family has stopped doing standard Thanksgiving meals. My mom is the only one who actively likes stuff like turkey with stuffing, ham, mashed potatoes, and vegetables as a meal. Bit of a rule of thumb for Street Fighter 6 that won't help anyone specifically for Will it Kill, but If the opponent's life bar is yellow a level 3 always kills even with maximum combo scaling. Edit: I stand corrected. Still, it *usually* kills.

Definitely not true. Yellow health happens at 25% life left (2500 damage remaining) and full scaled CA does 2250 damage (full scale level 3 does 2000). If you're at the top of the yellow health, it can easily not kill, and the point of the show is that it's actually pretty hard to tell where that point is. It also changes for the higher health characters, making the guess harder.

@@Infil Like I said, it "won't help anyone specifically for Will it Kill". In a real match, if your combo drops someone into the yellow it's a reasonably safe bet that ending on level 3 usually kills, but you are right that sometimes it doesn't. It's why a lot of Aki players are asking for a QoL change for her, because you can't see if your opponent is in the yellow while they're poisoned, and it's a useful measuring stick.

@@kevingriffith6011You went from "always" to "usually," and even calling it a safe bet is a stretch. A whole 5th of the yellow lifebar zone is "safe" territory for a fully scaled level 3. It's just not a particularly useful measuring stick.

So to understand what the hell happened in to second phantom breaker clip..... So some attacks can trigger a critical hit which can lead to different properties often this is counter hits but also triggers on OTG or cross. Landing the cross up made her attack a critical which lifted her opponent up into a special unteachable juggle stat where they can't air tech till they hit the ground or wall as wall decreases untech time. However P1 used a counter burst dash cancel to switch sides only her to keep the combo going before she hit the wall only her to do enough damage to stun. Ladtly the person getting whooped has low health and is a glass cannon. Edit: many throws and special specials also put people into the juggle state
