7:07 this is such a great analogy. Truly if you want a brake that does everything including mount suppressors this is not it; if you just want to delete as much recoil as possible and be able to tune it get one.

That's a cool muzzle brake. Interestingly, it reminds me of Kalashnikov's SR-1 (the civilian AK-107). It essentially utilizes the same muzzle brake to achieve zero recoil. When Forgotten Weapons shot the SR-1, they concluded that the muzzle brake is more responsible for maintaining zero recoil than the whole BARS (Balanced Action Recoil System) system.

Looks very effective. I run a 2 chamber midwest industries mimb6 brake and am happy with it. My sam7 has the normal ak74 style brake and its pretty good too. If i ever get into competition ill look into these. For right now, big brakes are just loud af at the range and don't help me cause i can't run and gun anyways lol

@Doublezzranch23 күн бұрын
@HTownWerewolf : I honestly don't remember the brand I bought, but I went from the factory 1.5mm to a 1.3mm. I only shoot 150 gr & have zero malfunction with my setup. The SCAR is over gassed for normal civilian use, so there is no need to beat up the receiver with so much gas. I carry mine every day on my Ranch rain or shine & yet have never had any problems yet. I have changed the foregrip & butt stock. I like the factory butt stock but hate the flimsy hinge it has. KINETIC is the company I bought those parts from & they work perfect.

Does this brake make you tune the gas differently? Or does a kns piston go with this and make it even better in regards to muzzle rise and felt recoil?? Thank you for your time!👊🏼 Great videos as always!!
@javiercolon9956Ай бұрын
This video came in perfect timing. I’ have been running my WASR10, 16”, with a PSA Tank Muzzle Brake, and a KNS system flawless thru Kalash Basch and AK Masters so far this year; however, the muzzle raises on double taps still an issue. I was considering upgrading my muzzle brake with a JMAC RRD-4C Slim. Questions: How do you compare the JMAC RRD4 with the Unrivaled device, muzzle rise and felt recoil wise? Secondly, did you have to adjust-retune your KNS with the Unrivaled muzzle brake due to the excess gas release? Thank you again Klay for your great videos content and continuous support to the AK gear head community.

The only AK I have with a brake/comp is an old Type 56 rebuild. It has a... "Custom" A2 fan port comp on it. Bored the backend out and rethreaded for(I think) 9/16-16, and just opened up the exit on the comp. It do work. I have actually been designing my own two piece fan port comp, to simplify timing and repeatability. Essentially, it needs a actual bast chamber and a tighter exit, plus being lighter. I've been running my first two-piece prototype on my M&P9, and it really do work, I just need to clean up the design and reduce tool passes.
