A vintage run on my 1987 Yamaha TZR 250, A friend recently resurrected his 1987 1987 Suzuki RG500 Gamma and it was in need of a shakedown cruise. #rg500 #tzr250 #suzuki #yamaha

Brings back so many memories from the 80s and 90s on my two strokes. Thank you from Richmond.

Outstanding! Long live the 2 stroke DNA.

Two fantastic street stroker machines. The Yam was the looker, the RG had the edge on performance. Back in the day when I was looking to trade up from my Yam 350 LC, I almost bought the Yam 500. I got the RG instead.

both amazing bikes .. I just remember the TZR sounded like a bloody chainsaw ..wicked sound .. also remember very clearly clipping the back of a citron 2CV in France. On the way to Le Mans. I’m breaking my leg and a half on the RG 500

RG 500 is the motorcycle , that haunts me in my wet dreams. Ill give anything for that. Anything ( I rode the 250 and 350 from yamaha, back in the day). Might I say, that even designwise, these bikes age very, very well

I love this video guys. Two regular guys riding these awesome bikes. No pretentious bullcrap, just having a good time. The sound of the TZR takes me back to 93 with my 87 2MA UK 250 TZR. The parallel twins have that great sound. I still have a TZR's, but now a 3MA reversed engine and a couple of 3XV v-twin models. I miss the shit out of that standard parallel engine. Loved how you show that ting no mercy. Full revs my man! Thanks for sharing.. josh

Nice, had RZ350's and an RG500, no comparison, but both are great bikes in their own way.

Just need your dad to make 3 with the rz-500. Rod told me the Gamma was coming out to play, and here's the proof. Beautiful day for a ride, I went up cheam on the KLX300. Some days I really miss my NSR.....
@motoxguy7742 ай бұрын
The Gamma was the bike, that thing owned the 600 production class at Westwood 1986/87. Rims were a bit narrow and you had to remove the belly fairing ( ground clearance ). Add a Fox Shock and braided steel brake lines and some decent rubber and you could go very fast.

What a great guy to swap bikes! However now with the price of RG500's every mile that poor guy is thinking "got to save up, darn this thing is slow!". Great video !

It would sound S loads better with some aftermarket exhaust pipes and lose at good 10 pounds. Check out k2-tec exhaust in Japan. Great price not wicked expensive. Weak yen they are $450 usd right now. Friend has them on his 2ma which happens to be an 87 Canadian model. The Japanese model has way better mirrors than the dorky ones the Canadian n UK models came with. Too many straight roads guys these bikes shine on the tight twisty roads. I know you have them up there n b.c I'm down in Seattle I have a few of these bikes. Rgv nsr newer tzr.

I'm a stickler for keeping this bikes original. I love the sound of a good set of jolly moto pr Jim Lomas don't get me wrong, but I want to keep these bikes 100% original as they were both sold in Canada. They ate indeed also great bikes in the twisted but the tires we are riding on are over 10 years old so we prefer not to push it. Most of the plastics are pretty much irreplaceable at this point. We just get them out to stretch their legs now and again
@pikachus5m1666 ай бұрын
@@UnsightedADV You say you want to keep it original, are the tyres stock sizes?, I remember they were undersized and until fitting a 160 instead of the 120 rear (changed from Michelin to Metzelers) the grip felt substantially better. Also the belly pans have a habit of hitting the road, but back then, there were plenty of aftermarket replacements.

you characters spend more time in the gas station than riding. You do realize that anyone watching a couple legendary bikes like this don't really want to hear or see you two? We just want to see powerbands, sounds and wheelies.. Perhaps you two should give me those bikes. I'll give you a prius. more your style.

I wouldn't hold your breath. You'll have to just keep watching us ride em.
