The part of the Minns case that irritates me the most is he should not have been allowed to come into her house when the police brought the search warrant. The warrant allows only the police entrance, it was not okay for the police to tell him to come on in. It doesn't do Barbara much good, but I'm so glad his ex-wife got half his fortune.

Katherine must of really felt depressed after loosing her husband of 38 years. She did not open any of her social security checks, it's so sad how her house was unkept. But depression can tear the best person down, if there loved one is no longer here on earth. For her sake, I hope she is with Gilbert. True love cannot be destroyed and in this day and age is very, very rare almost nonexistent in most cases. May Kathrine RIP🪦🕊🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

In July of 1994, Richard Minns, 64, was arrested at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on suspicion of obtaining several passports with fraudulent information and names. He received a four-month sentence and fined $100,000. In November of 1994, he was deported because he was in the United States illegally. Minns has never been charged in the attempted murder of Piotrowski although police have said they believe he was involved. Piotrowski did win a $58-million dollar civil judgment against Minns and others for the attempted murder. Adrian Franks of Houston, Texas, hired by Dudley Bell to follow Barbra and who tapped her phone and recorded her calls, and who was hired to kill Piotrowski and installed a remote kill switch on her car died of cancer in 2018. Richard Minns died in England in 2016.

Minns case -- Shows how the system works for people with money and connections, and how it can be manipulated to abuse and violate innocent people like his unfortunate girlfriend. She was unfortunate because she loved a man who wanted to punish her with his power for simply leaving him when he deserved it. He sullied her record, pressed unfair charges against her, bullied her, and then tried to take her life. He then because of his money and power, went on to travel and have success. She is strong and has overcome his damage, and she works helping others. I admire this. I don't admire this Minns man, who has so much, yet has chosen to hurt and victimize people that actually loved him.

Barbara was naive to think she could take all the property in the home and not expect since retaliation. If you want out, GET OUT. Don't take your time packing bags.
@jbcatz5 Жыл бұрын
It was her leaving him that triggered him. He needed control, and didn’t care what morally bankrupt methods he used to get it. Lying about his wife, making up a story about being legally separated to make the issue of his wife turning up go away, abusing influence over the police. I bet he never showed Barbara documentation to show the townhouse and everything in it were hers (it’d invalidate the statement where their only relationship was professional), she just took him at his word. That statement was about him controlling the narrative, making her the bad guy and protecting his image.
@fredrezfield162910 ай бұрын

@@fredrezfield1629 He got the police to try coerce the false confession out of her, and he was allowed to be present when they searched her new home. To hammer the point home again, he needed control of the situation, the relationship and the perception of it. He lost control so he lashed out at the woman who took it. It’s a classic abuse strategy, make sure they know who’s boss by demonstrating control over them.

What about the costs the state incurs for performing a search of her heirs? Perhaps that's the reason why they kept a portion of the funds. I could be wrong though.

The whole concept is ridiculous. Go around wasting time and resources looking for blood heirs that have never had any contact or relationship whatsoever with the deceased, and they're entitled to money by a distant bloodline??? That should have just gone to her husband's family, and the law saying it can't because he is deceased is either flawed or corrupt.. She was widowed, not divorced, obviously loved him very much....the only viable argument is that she should have made a will since she had so much money to be debated over.

Wow this is one of those episodes you realize the people who made it put so much hard work into getting these stories across to get peoples attention even during cynical days and they're watching TV to escape their own major problems.....

Richard Minns moved to Israel permanently and somehow became a notable artist despite his horrid past. There are KZfaq videos of him speaking. He had an interesting past. Used to work as an editor for The Houston Chronicle after graduating from Texas. Later shifted towards advertising and ended up gaining ownership to a chain of gyms--whom he was doing advertising work for--after the owners ran out of money. This was right about when gyms were starting to become popular, so the business took off not long after.

He denounced his US citizenship and went to Ireland and the carribean for long enough to avoid statue of limitations before coming back with fake passports with several names and only got 4 months, then he went to England and then Israel where he is in a milieu of Ayn Rand freaks and a sculpture.

I wonder how hard and how long state officials really look for living heirs? I bet not very hard or for very long. Why would they? If they find no one the money goes to the state coffers.

Hell they found her heir n still only gave the heir half of the money and kept the other half for themselves. I be they'll say court costs or some other b.s. pertaining to how they had to search. Hell UM did the search for them. That's b.s. n I'd be suing for the other half of my inheritance. The government is too damn greedy.

Alex Cooper walking in the park with his family and grown children behind him looks like a scene out of a Wes Anderson movie. Come on even the Missing Poster has that Wes Anderson Font "Have you seen this man? " Wes Anderson should turn this into a movie with Bill Murray as the dad and Tilda Swinton as the wife :)

You see how the state works the relative gets half the state keeps the rest. Heres a tip SPEND IT before you die or put the money in the bank in the name of the people you want to give it to cause the state and lawyers are just going to take it all. Why give a lawyer a 3rd of your money when you can give it to your family

I absolutely HATE governments. The law CLEARLY stated that the estate was to go to the nearest blood relative. They find one, and only give her half. When they couldnt find any other relatives, they should have given her the other half. They didnt and kept it. Like WTF? My will? Im giving EVERYTHING to people. Ill be damned if the state is going to even get a pencil from me. No way.

It is easy to blame in life. We as human beings learn through experiences, and it is often hard to see ahead of time or even while one is experiencing an event what another person is really like. Many many many people have made the mistake of trusting the wrong person or people, yet I do not think they were solely to blame. Because as I said, we learn through experience, and the most EVIL people can often be the most charming and or manipulative.
