She looks 31. Eta. There is nothing wrong with looking your age. She has earned it.

She is so brave to tell her story. I love this very talented family, so tragic, that they were controlled and abused!

Just bought a hard back book from Amazon, I'm own page 27, what a amazing author, lord have mercy jess, beautiful voice, great dancer, can play any instrument, writes her own songs. Is their anything you can't do? God gave you blessings. I'll pray he will help heal the nightmares that Toby did.Much love to you and your husband. Just and old women from the south.😊❤

😢💓 Wow! She is super brave and an amazing example of working on her trauma and working on getting back to her true authentic self. ❤️ Her dad sounds very narcissistic and manipulative. It sounds like he made her to be the scapegoat. I've been a scapegoat with a narcissist too. It's an awful abusive environment. So sorry to hear that she experienced these forms of abuse.

I found this after watching your interview with Preacher Boys. This interview is great too. Every one has a little something different. I didn't grow up in this world/culture but I can definitely relate to having to deconstruct relationships of co-dependency and improper enmeshment. Also, with having an ideal of your parents that was never real. I think this happens a lot if you grow up in an abusive family structure, even if those structures and types of abuse are different. You mentioned something towards the end about a sense of guilt or responsibility for how long you stayed. For what it's worth, that doesn't lie with you.

I truly believe that Jessica would be a great psychologist. I was a victim of child sex abuse when I was just 5 years old. I can feel her pain that I went through..😢😢😢

Oh my godness, Jessica, I hope you know, you didn't do anything! You didn't let things get worse! It wasn't you at all! It was all his responsibility! Not yours! Never, to no moment! As he hit you, you got pulled back to the kids stage. You took your chance as soon as you could! You were so brave! I admire what you did. Behind my words is my own story. Just that you know, that I know what I am talking about!

The problem with people in Christianity is that people take an abusive, evil individual like Toby Willis and equate them with God and the church. Toby and God are no where near alike in any sense. Jessica struggles just to come out & say that her dad was a power and control freak and dominated his daughter because he could, and manipulating her made him validate his behavior and weak sense of self. Jessica needs to stop trying to talk in generalized, nebulous terms and just call it and Toby what it was....wrong and evil. God and the church get a bad rap when evil men call themselves good inside the guise of the church.

Gosh I hope she finds D.L. Mayfield. They have a new Substack called STRONGWILLED that has been SO helpful for me. I recognize the way she is talking. Very similar background beliefs and now on the same path of healing. It sounds like she has come all the way out. There are MANY of us. There is so much meats around our similar memories. The host is blind to the religious abuse. He doesn’t “blame the church”???? Really???

God is only good. There is no evil or sin in Him. He is what your father was meant to be filled with without any mixture of evil or uncleanliness. Humans were created in God’s spirit-image and likeness , to think like Him and with Him but Adam and Eve sinned and became one together with created beings and experienced both good and evil. We were only supposed to know goodness from oneness with God. When we repent of our sins and receive Christ’s Holy Spirit we are joined to the Lord and restored to God’s favor again. There is so much good and encouraging and strengthening and empowering in scripture that you’ve never heard. I pray that you hear the truth in the love it was spoken from. It was spoken by such a loving Father that sent His Son to take away all our sin and sickness and grief, and to comfort us by His indwelling Spirit. Don’t give up on Him. He hasn’t given up on you❣️

Because abuse breaks every one down to feel helpless and broken.... adults and children alike. She not innocent and she holds culpability, however, to understand the damage abuse and opr3ssion does to the mind is critical.

Yes what the bible is correct and what God says is right but he gives us free choice and that's where things go crazy is alot of churches want to control you. It needs to be your choice to accept it.

It's a mistake to think the church uses theories for a better system, hoping it will work out. It is based on a vision of religion that was never right from the start as MEN was always in power and always right, and women have to submit. They know and didn't care. For me, because I was raised by bad ass women yet still in a very demented upbringing would've killed my husband if he had touched my child. Period. The first thing I told him was that you never touch my child in any abusive way. I have no problem with a man leading the problem to make a man the all mighty powers one God representation on earth. And that's how those religions are set up. Has nothing to do with a God.
