Carrie was interviewed after that performance and she said the Holy Spirit overtook her and she doesn't even remember finishing that song. It was so obvious when watching her sing. She got utterly transported - and she and Vince transported everyone who watched and heard this astonishingly epic worship to the Lord.

In my opinion. Elvis and Carrie Underwood, gave the best performance I ever heard. It shook my soul. I raised my hands and worshiped my God. Had tears running down my face. This was so awesome. My skin had goosebumps all over my body. Carrie sure has an unbelievable talent. I believe the holy spirit took over her when she sand this holy song. How great thou art my God.

I used to sing but no longer can. Someday though, when I kneel before the King of Kings and Lord of Lords….I want to sing this for him! It’s always been my favorite and embodies how I feel for my Savior. Carrie’s performance could only be done with this much passion by someone who knows who her Savior is and loves Him with all her heart! Great job! Praise the Almighty!

She lives a good Christian life too. She and her husband, Mike Fisher, are raising their sons in a Christian home. Mike's commitment to being a Christian is one reason she fell in love with him. He's retired from the Nashville Predators Hockey team.

Carrie and Vince both have deep religious roots, both grew up going to church. Anytime they do a Gospel song, you can literally watch them get moved by the Holy Spirit, as they did with this song.
