Watching black people react to this, as a white guy, is so weird :) Its like I'm in the notion black people don't watch anime at all. I love DBZ and super was also good. I've seen this fight so many times now. Best mini parts of this end fight are when Android 17 shoots those 4 blue arrows and then when Frieza sacrifices himself to take Jiren down - especially since the guitar solo comes and its EPIC Just never say the woke stuff that anime needs black characters. 1st, there are some and 2nd, anime characters actually don't have races - they aren't per se Japanese or white etc, but they have colors and unless specified by the manga, they are race-less. When I first heard that white looking characters aren't actually white in anime, I was stunned. How naïve I was. still, I was looking more at your excited faces than the left bottom corner, cause I was surprised too

There are no "chances". It doesn't matter what 17 meant. He didn't make the wish. The wish specifically said, "please restore all the universes that were erased" It's perfectly clear. No possible misinterpretation. All the universes that were erased are back, including the ones erased for having mortal power levels that were getting too high. This, along with Broly's inclusion, raises the bar plenty. They can write tons of new story based on Mortals vs Angels now; there is precedent set here that their levels are attainable.

@James Purgason the public showing in Japan of that moment were very surreal. It was just quiet in the streets. I wanted to cheer but had to just stand there silent like a zombie. Meanwhile people in the Uk and USA were screaming "fuck yeah woooooo lets gooOoooOOoooOOoooooOOoo!!!!!!!!!" You guys never watched all of Dragon Ball Z, did you? You all seemed pretty lukewarm to a lot of major moments and callbacks in this episode. I have a hard time believing anybody who has seen DBZ from start to at least the end of the Frieza Saga would just sit there through the Goku/Vegeta wasteland callback and not point out that it's a reference to that original battle they had during the Saiyan Saga.

For the record: Akira Toriyama didn't do Dragon Ball Super because he felt GT tarnished it, he did it because he didn't want that awful live-action flick Dragon Ball Evolution to be the end of Dragon Ball. Toriyama seemed to be fine with GT.
