This abandoned house seemed to have been frozen in time. Everything from the 1960's was left behind inside this time capsule and seemingly preserved for decades. From the shag carpet, to the pastel colors, this abandoned house was a stunning remnant of the 60's.

There's stuff all throughout from the 50's, 60's & 70's. I bet a married couple lived here and when the husband died the wife didn't want to change a thing so kept it that way. It's happens more than you'd think.

I think the decor is more of a mix of late 50's into the 60's with a dash of 1940. The acoustic ceiling was a popular retrofit in the 70's to 80's to cover a damaged ceiling and help with heating/cooling. It gave that oppressed feeling if not carefully installed. My Dad was a carpenter and advised some people NOT to do it on remodeling their homes or they would live to regret it.

Most of the furniture look’s from the late 60’s & 70’s, but a lot of that stuff is a mixture from the 70’s through the 2000’s.... The house appear’s to be stuck in time, and somebody “was” coming through for up keep.

Judging by the placement of the bed to that living room this must have been a house of elderly people, with the bed being in such an open space. I guess once they had passed away the family had no use to the house and left behind anything that wasn't overly personal.

Wow what a throwback to my grandparents home. They had a couch & chair just like the dark green one in the sunken living room, but theirs were beige. They also had a similar kitchen table and chairs, which had been from the 50's. as well as the white metal cabinets. I remember going to their house in the 80's and thinking how old their things were. LOL

I felt the same way. I think it’s because this one was left like a time capsule. I cd actually picture ppl living their lives there in the 50s, 60’s & on thru up to the possible early 90s. You can see that they loved this home & had everything in its exact place. It’s just very sad to imagine all the love shared in that home at one time & how now it just sits empty. Quiet. W no more laughter. No more ppl living their lives. Reading books or listening to their favorite records. The only sounds now are when a ceiling tile or another piece of the home surrenders to time & decay. It’s a complete time capsule of a much more innocent time. Before the rush rush rush of modern life. Like someone else had mentioned, I hope the couple who used to live here have now reconnected in heaven. As it seems that an elderly couple probably last lived there. Up to the point of where it wasn’t safe anymore for them to be there, whether from their own physical limitations or from the house deteriorating. I love how these guys are so respectful of everything in the home. Very great video!!!

Wow, great explore! I just happened to luck onto it from my recommendations. I was a little kid in the 60s and everybody had those dinette sets. When I see a place like this, it feels like coming home, not to a place but to a time. I wouldn't want to live in that time again, but I would dearly love to visit it. A video such as this one allows me to do that, in a way. Thanks so much.

Looks like this house had its heyday during the 50s & into the 60s, although there’s certain evidence of later items. I’d guess that the 60s was when the “life” of the home began dying off & while it remained occupied, nothing was being updated or maintained. I often wonder how a premise could be just abandoned with all its contents. If the occupants die, doesn’t the municipality take over if there’s no family? I find these things so interesting & it’s particularly remarkable that it didn’t fall victim to vandals or squatters.
@NicoliRavioli117

Some places that are in smaller rural towns don’t have all the rules and regulations that the cities do. We have a smaller town about 10 miles out from the main city where I’m from, & when a building is abandoned there, they will just leave it until the very last stick or brick falls to the ground. I would guess this place is probably in a smaller, rural community. Especially since it hasn’t fallen to vandalism yet. I hope someone goes in and salvages those treasures before the entire home collapses. It’s also possible that maybe the family still owns the home but they may live far away from it and just don’t keep it up anymore.

I work in home care and there quite a few homes that feel like I stepped into a time machine from the 50s to the 90s. Most notably if they are the original owners and helped build/design the house.

It's a shame those two rooms collapsed, if they had a television it would've been in there. It was abandoned in 2011 but everything in there is 40-50 years older, so I wonder if their TV (if they had one) was an old tube television or a modern screen.

It's possible it once belonged to older folks, the bed off the living room could have been an elderly person who could no longer make it up the stairs anymore. My great grandmother passed away in 2007 at 99, her last house she owned she moved to in the late 70s. While she did have some newer furniture (mostly from the mid to late 80s) she had a lot of furniture still from the 40s thru the 70s including that same style kitchen table.

Fascinating that I did not notice a single personal photo in any shot. Unless this was fone intentionally in consideration of privacy? My theory, based on the occasional updated items is that whoever lived here did so up until sometime in the 80s. The cot in the bedroom makes me think there was perhaps a family care provider staying there during the process of a persons passing away, perhaps with hospice. What a glorious find.
