Welcome to "Untrodden Peaks and Unfrequented Valleys: Cycling along the Footsteps of Amelia Edwards." In this video series, we embark on an extraordinary journey through the Dolomite Mountains, tracing the path blazed by the legendary explorer Amelia Edwards and chronicled in her book of the same name.
In this first part of our Dolomite adventure, we pedal in the very footsteps of Amelia Edwards, embarking on a mesmerizing cycling expedition through the breathtaking landscapes of the Dolomites. Our journey begins in the picturesque region of Alta Badia, where we set our wheels in motion towards Cortina. Along the way, we pass through the enchanting San Vito di Cadore, the hometown of the renowned artist Tiziano Vecellio.
Our route continues, leading us through Auronzo, Misurina, and the spellbinding Lago di Landro, where we catch a glimpse of the iconic Tre Cime di Lavaredo. As we retrace Amelia's historic path, we head back to Cortina before facing our next challenge: the majestic Falzarego Pass. This pass guides us to the tranquil village of Caprile, where Amelia Edwards herself spent a significant part of her remarkable journey. Finally, our first part concludes at the serene Lake Alleghe.

Igor, yet another incredible video!!!! Thank you. The part with hiw not to eat canedeli and mispronounce names we PRICELESS!!! I dont remember when i laughed this much. Please please please make short videos like 'Lasin bites with Igor' where you educare us (yous and Dolomite's cult followers) and the rest of the world on Ladin history, culture, food, traditions and language. È la Castelli Idro Jacket. Non le fanno purtroppo piú perché GORE non produce piú quel tessuto per motivi ecologici. Una gran cavolata secondo me visto che é il tessuto migliore mai fatto ed adesso per avere la stessa qualitá devi aquistare 2 tipologie di capi. Detto questo se ne trovi qualcuna in giro come fondo di magazzino prendila subito che poi non ci sono piú. Ho trovato questo su Amazon sperando che ti vada la taglia: amzn.to/3RXb1UD

Sai che devo proprio andare a pesarla che non ne ho la piú pallida idea. A "tatto" posso solo dirti che pesa piú della bici da strada e meno della MTB 😂. Comunque ho 2 bici da gravel, la Cervelo Aspero e questa. Anche se la Cervelo sará forse di pochi centinaia di grammi piú leggera la sensazione di guida della Colnago é molto, ma molto migliore della Cervelo. Specialmente con bagagli sulla bici. Sia in pianura che in discesa é bella stabile. È una cosa riconosco molte volte quando non ho le mani sul manubrio (per filmare capita spesso). Mentre con la Cervelo mi sembra di essere ubriaco con la Colnago sono sobrio 😂
