UNVEILING BABY NEO'S NEW EARS POST SURGERY | Unexpected Results!!!
On Feb. 10, 2022 Neo had a successful Cochlear Implant surgery and today we finally get to see Neo's new ears. When our baby boy was born we found out that he was profoundly deaf and hearing aids would never be enough to help him have access to sound, and therefore would not be able to hear. During his cochlear implant surgery we found out that the CI works and now we can't wait for activation day, when we finally get to experience Neo's first time hearing. Prior to learning about Neo's deafness, we had no idea that cochlear implants existed, our hope is that Neo's hearing loss journey will inspire other parents during this process and provide insight as to what you can expect when your baby is implanted. We want to thank you all for being so incredibly supportive during this process, we will continue to advocate for the Deaf and hard of hearing community, although Neo will be able to hear with the help of the Cochlear implant, in our hearts Neo will always be our sweet boy who was born Deaf and can hear now. We love your Neo!

I’ve had a cochlear implant since 2007. Once we removed the bandage I felt so much better:-). Don’t worry about his ear- it’s not loose :-) they make an incision behind it. He will heal up quickly and every child I know who got implants early has great results. I was hearing for most of my life and went deaf as an adult. Voices sound just the same to me as they used to. It took a few weeks until that was true but now 15 years later I think my hearing is about 85% People might tell you to stop using sign language but I think that it’s really good if you do both. There’s times when his battery might go dead or in the bathtub or in a noisy situation he Might do better with some signs

You can tell how well you raise your kids by how well they behave. I can't believe that Neo didn't throw a bigger fit when you put the drops in his ears. Also how Abella kept asking for approval once she was given the cake.

I cannot even begin to imagine how hard it is for Cristal and Niko to look at those deep scars on their baby boy. I know it'll heal back to as if nothing happened, but this right now is so painful to even me, watching this. Neo's such a strong baby. Heal soon, Baby Neo ❤️

I was literally in tears with Cristal when she took the bandages off, the way Niko was looking at Cristal while she had to do the drops my heart broke I can’t begin to imagine how hard it is to see your baby have to deal with that and you have to do that to him at the same time♥️♥️♥️you’re all in my prayers

The scars will fade! I’ve had 4 surgeries on my ENT area, including one where I had incisions right along the back of my ear (they had to open the area and taped my ear to my nose while digging around). Children are so resilient and the future is bright for Neo. All the best!

He is seriously the cutest! Wishing him a speedy recovery! I can definitely relate because I’ve had ear surgeries since I was little girl all the way up to two years ago which was my most recent. It was hard but that family love and support is what helps us get through it. Neo is so lucky! You guys are doing great. 💙💖

I'm impressed with baby neo's calm nature...he is just a baby but how nicely he let crystal open the bandage and then putting the medicine he even didn't move much when they were making him lie and putting that ear drop❤️❤️ he is so calm n quiet as if he knows the importance of all this....it obviously hurts to see his cuts🥺 but I'm waiting for the day when he'll be able hear this world❤️❤️

Neo was so good, I couldn't imagine a one year old to be so calm while taking the bandages off. He's the strongest lil baby ever! I literally cried with Crystal at 9:47 That was really stressful for her but yeah baby neo can beat up anything. ❤

You guys did such a good job. I am a doctor and the ear and stitches looked good from whatever I could see. Controlling neo will be a challenge because of his curiosity but 7-10 days from surgery should be good enough for him also to play around. You guys are the sweetest parents and neo is the cutest baby

He’s really brave and you both are also really brave … I can understand how stressful it is for you both too. praying for his speedy recovery..I still remember how they took my son in for a surgery and I was praying outside. He came back with the mask they used on him to give him anesthesia. He showed it to me by putting on my nose to let me know how they made him sleep. Don’t worry. Kids recover so fast and Neo is already so strong . He has awesome parents who keep the positive vibe going.
