I’ve used the FlipSide wallet for years and I haven’t found anything I like more to replace it.

I have the Flipside 4 and it was my daily wallet during a 3 month road/camping trip to Alaska and back. It is not watertight but that was never an issue. Small amounts of dust can get inside but again this did not cause a problem. If you drop it, it can pop open and cards can fall out. It is nice and compact and fits easily in a front pocket. I really like the way it organizes cards and cash. It would be very cool if it were made out of aluminum as the G5 is. People would often comment on it as it is rather unusual for a wallet. I like mine a lot though I am currently using something else.

I've been using the flip slide for years now; I find it's about the same size/feel in my front pocket as my old leather fold wallet. it's a bit thicker but not as wide or long. A big bonus is stuff does not fall out like my well used leather wallets did. Now this is a front pocket wallet, in a back pocket the hard shell is going to be felt when you sit down. The spring open funtion is not a problem, it's a fast easy way to get at your CC's and CCs slip out very easly from all the holders; I like to use the front two for holding my main CCs and keep my ID and cash in the back half.

Wow that was a very long plug for that Pelican wallet. I have had a Flipside wallet for a thing for years now I initially had gotten a black one it has been submerged in saltwater I've never had a problem with the spring getting weaker I did get a orange one which I love it's in my pocket right now and no it's not waterproof however I fail and build square-rigged sailing ships and spend a lot of time outside and in wet weather and other than the one time I was completely submerged in water it's never been a problem even a problem that time I'm a fairly big guy and I find that the flipside wallet is a fine size to carry I would never carry the Pelican one because my God is huge and it also has virtually no storage it looks like a poor trade-off

Did Flipside 3x then flipside 4 for about 2 years religiously. water tightness was never an issue. Paying was always a breeze. Decided to try new wallets, but im going right back to what works.

I have the flipside 3. Been having it for 10 years(since 2014). Still springs open, and has available attachments to give you more room. I love this wallet. Perfect size for my front pockets and never had a problem. The g5 lacks organization with its only 2 slots. Trust me, stick with the flipside. you will be happier. He reminds me of a commercial that makes issues dramatic. Its funny watching him show off the "issues" with flipside. Its obvious which he prefers. I have never put my wallet in water, so no need for a seal.

Pelican is probably good for those with a VERY "extreme" active lifestyle. The Flipside 4 is good for daily "active" city lifestyle. I use both the Slimpuro and Flipside 4 wallets as my daily drivers for years now (with the Slimpuro wallet as the compact "wallet" of choice whenever I go to places that need the proverbial "monkey suit" during formal events). The only thing I can see that "may" be a problem with the G5 is that it will set off metal detectors more often even if you put it on the tray during security screenings. I might try out the G5; but despite the biggest feature being the weatherproofing, I like the fact that the Flipside has more interior organization and a smaller profile. If the Flipside ever comes out with an aircraft-grade aliminum version that includes both a gasket AND their interior organization, I would definitely go and get it.

Flipside all day. The size and weight alone make this a no brainer (unless you are a deep sea welder).

I am using the bright orange version for f the Flipside 4 currently. Have tried some others including a Dango for a while which was nice because of the build quality, but went back to the Flipside because it just works better and easier. I also have the Sidekick on it so I can keep spare keys in my wallet. Only issue lately is that when I sit and have it in my back pocket it slides out easily. Wish it was metal, and higher quality build.

Would a Zippo lighter fit in the Pelican G5?

I have the flip side for 5 years and love it! I just bought the flip sidekick to add more room for cards! I don’t need a wallet that waterproof unless I fall into a lake a lot 😊 thanks for a great vid

The pelican looks like a great weather protection option for cycling. It's size makes me wonder if you can just fit a smaller wallet, like the bellroy card sleeve, into the pelican and take it out when you get to your destination.

I have the Flipside 3 and have been using it for about 8 years now. Phenomenal construction quality. I have yet to find a better functioning minimalist wallet. The interior design is ingenious and incredibly functional. The flipping tray and friction-fit card slots makes retrieval fumble-free and super quick. Lack of water proofing has never been a concern. The exterior design isn't ugly, but it's not pleasing either. I wish they made a carbon fiber version for a more sophisticated look.

All gadgets good or bad are based on an individuals life style and needs. There will always be no absolute winner.

I don't think I'd use either of those. A nice FlowFold wallet is all the weather resistance I need - and a much slimmer form factor.

I'm on my third flipside in 6 years. I really like the design would love it if built with more premium materials the first one the plastic tab on the inside "bill holder" broke off, the second one had a tab on the latch break..

But why do you really need a waterproof wallet ? It’s not like you can damage cash or cards with water. A cellphone pouch, yeah. But a waterproof / sand proof wallet? Not sure

I have a flip side, love it ! But, I wish it had a place to keep receipts

My question is which of the two would hide a badge the best?

These aren't wallets. They're things you take to the beach to keep your stuff from getting wet. I do appreciate your reviews seriously.

My flip side is getting worn out and the card slide out easily and sometimes I have to push them back in to close the wallet.

I just got the flip side and the accessory for extra card storage it came with a lanyard clip but I have no idea on how to attach the lanyard clip there was nothing in the instructions on how to attach it

I would like to see more of handcrafted classic leather wallets. These machine made plastic and metal card holders are for teenagers and people who like gimmicky stuff. The video was made great though. But the products I find less than intresting.

Would a Fisher bullet space pen fit inside?

Flipside is just a plastic case that is vulnerable to fall damage. You may as well use a Dango Brand hard wallet if you like flip style hard case.

I have carried many different regular wallets,and minimalist wallets over the years. My Flipside has never let me down. I have dropped it, banged it and it never popped open never lost anything out of it. If ain’t broke don’t fix it!!!

This would have been a lot more helpful if you recorded yourself put the cards and cash, to show how it looks with the cash and cards.

Flipside 4. smaller. I can´t see the utility for IP67 in a wallet. No other wallets have it.

I will use the flip side0 for every day. And the pelican for amusement park water rides.

Flipside is very nice, but in Italy it costs 200 euros which is a lot for a wallet !! the pelican costs 50 euros so it is much more feasible

I've owned the flipside since 2014. There is absolutely no reason for a wallet to have an IP rating. Think about your old leather wallet or the Ridge wallet (and all the Ridge clones), none of them have an IP rating or need. There has never been dust found inside my flipside, so I again don't think this is a real issue. I would suggest that Pelican is the only brand that would need an IP rating because Pelican makes many products that have IP protection (cases, flashlights, tool boxes etc), it's sort of their calling card. I guess if I was a river guide or a gold miner, I would want that Pelican wallet. I've dropped this wallet and it's popped open maybe 3 times out of 50 drops. The cards are secure and do not fall out, drop or no drop. Not a real issue. Will it accidentally pop open in your hands or pocket? Well it's impossible for the wallet to open inside your pocket, so that's not a real issue. I've never accidentally pushed the recessed, spring loaded button and had the wallet "fly open" on me. It's never happened. A negative is that it might take a new user time to get the wallet to open one handed. I can do, but if I handed it to my son and said "open it one handed", he would probably drop it the first few times. It's a bit technique sensitive but it's not difficult.

Would never carry either. Far too bulky and clunky. I'll stick with a leather minimalist like my Port Wallet or D'Avella.

You act like youre gonna scubadive with the wallet? Flipside is much much better. I have the same flipside 3 for many many years. I do like the open button better than the 4. Flipside is clear winner.

Im looking for a hard case that give separated compratment for coin,cash,cards.average people will have less than 10 cards, less than 15 bills, around 10 coins just for a channge time to time. Hard case can go for longer years if its build well. Still searching. ogon v2 large seems good idea. Any other recommendation?
