Yep they should have detuned the tundras motor and put it in the TRD line up

I don't see a diesel option. For a vehicle that claims it's increasing torque for towing capacity diesel engines are supreme

@asianmovement I highly doubt it. But the 4.0 in Tacoma has been gone since 2015. You've had plenty of time to get over losing it.

Turbo = heat = diminished operating lifespan.

Actually the 4.0 was a good strong engine. Unfortunately it was replaced in 2016 with a 3.5. Also went from a 5 speed auto (that was very good) to a 6 speed that most hate. EPA keeps pushing for cleaner engines. Thus the smaller displacement with turbos is what we're left with. If you're going to geek on Tacoma, at least do some research.....
