So there have been a lot of rumors flying around as well as substantial facts as to what to expect from Samsung this year as far as watches are concerned.
I have been following many of the news and from what is now proven to be true, Samsung will release at least 3 watches later this year.
The first of the watches which has already been spotted on Amazon and Samsung’s website is the Galaxy Watch FE.
The Galaxy Watch FE is a low-budget watch with features very similar to that of the Galaxy Watch 4 which was released in 2021.
From the technical specifications shown on Samsung’s website, the Galaxy Watch FE will come in only one 40mm size. And it would be powered by the same 5nm Exynos W920 chip that powers the Galaxy Watch 4.
The frame is aluminum while the screen is Sapphire glass. Meanwhile, it comes with 16GB of storage and has a 1.2-inch AMOLED display.
Although, unlike the Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra, the Watch FE will support 5W charging speed which points to a longer charging duration.
The second watch to expect from Samsung is Galaxy Watch 7 which would succeed the Galaxy Watch 6.
The Watch 7 like the Watch 6 will come in two sizes; 40 and 44m and each of these will be available in LTE and Bluetooth models.
This is confirmed by data spotted by 91mobiles where the models of Galaxy Watch 7 are listed as SM-L300, SM-L305F, SM-L310, and SM-L315F.
Like the Galaxy Watch Ultra, the Watch 7 will be powered by a more advanced 5-core 3nm Exynos chip.
It will also come with a higher 32GB storage capacity.
Moreover, it will feature dual-band GPS for increased location tracking accuracy.
Furthermore, Galaxy 7 will take less time to charge, thanks to the 15W charging speed which is 50% faster than that of Galaxy Watch 6.
The third watch to expect from Samsung in 2024 is the higher-end Galaxy Watch Ultra which will be the first of its kind and is expected to rival the Apple Watch Ultra and Garmin Fenix series. This points to a rugged outdoor smartwatch.
From the data cited on the Bureau of Indian Standard's website, the Galaxy Watch Ultra has a SM-L705F model number and will only be available in a 47mm footprint.
It will also come in only an LTE model, there will be no Bluetooth option.
This is very similar to the Apple Watch Ultra which comes in one size and is only available in the LTE model.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra like the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will have a titanium frame and sapphire glass screen. It comes with 32GB storage and is powered by a superior penta-core 3nm chip.
Moreover, it will also have a higher 10ATM rating, the first of its kind in the Samsung lineup.
And like the Watch 5 Pro, it is packed with a big 590mAh battery capacity and supports 15W charging speed.
From this expected setup, Samsung is obviously following the setup of Apple Watches; a lower-end Galaxy Watch FE, a midrange Galaxy Watch 7, and a higher-end Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Meanwhile, there is also a Galaxy Ring in the pipeline which is expected to also be released in August.
It would be Samsung’s first smart ring and a bold move into the booming smart ring market which Oura dominates.
