In this video we'll rescue an old plastic spray bottle from the recycle bin and give it a dotted paint job so it's beautified for it's second life. We'll cover what paints to use, how to prep the surface, how to dot a straight line, and how to finish with a thick varnish glaze.

What a fun idea! I definitely recommend using some white or black gesso as a base coat first, to improve adhesion and durability. That stuff sticks well to just about anything, and provides a texture for the paint to adhere to as well.

Thanks for adding that! yes, the base coat would have been better with gesso or a multisurface paint. It's just that COLOR was so perfect. Thanks for sharing!

@@TheDottingCenter No problem! You could still use that red colour as your colour base after applying the gesso; sorry for not clarifying. Edit: in fact, one thing I’ve done for my white gesso base coat is add some of my intended base colour to tint it. Then the next solid layer of that paint will go on top of that tinted primer. Just like painting a wall with a deep colour over a pale or white base.

I use a water spray bottle to cool myself down at night ! 😂 Of course, you have to sleep in *uniform to make this work effectively. 😊
