Based on your initial video, Mr. Ratana, I've planted several baobab seeds. Three have been successful, and have returned after their dormancy periods. My most successful tree is now 25 cm tall. But I'm in Canada! We just don't have the warmth or humidity of Thailand. However, I have really enjoyed your videos, and have shared the videos, and some seedlings, with friends and family. Thank you.

Cool! The tree grows and become part of your house in ten years. But don't panic. Build a treehut and move into the tree. Slowly tear down the house. Symbiosis!

@@Rblock777 You are really as dumb as a brick I have to say. James tropicals lives in Thailand where the conditions of heat, humidity and sun are close to perfect. Where do you live? Somewhere where an oak would do well I suppose but not a baobab. Plus his baobab is planted outdoors with local soils. His seeds were fresh from the fruit. Whereas your seeds are fresh from an industrial type packet.... Plus your scarification of the seeds are too deep as you can see the marks on the first 2 leaves it develops... Dumb as a brick....

I have it too, I bought it from nursery last year and right now (today) it is in the stage of getting out of it's dormancy period. It was an year old when I bought it, so I assume the age of my baobab is 2 yrs too but the growth is not at all similar to what you have shown. However, it's length is not good as your baobab. Just wanted to know that is it mandatory for me to re-pot the tree from a pot every year? Shall I do it now as it is yet to give new leaves?

I live in SW Florida in the US. We have papayas everywhere around where I live. I started one less than a year ago and am using it as a bonsai. Using the formula for pruning of chopping 2-3 inches off of every 5 inches of growth, I’ve already had to apply this method x3 in just over 6 months. Based on my experience and the climates being similar, I can see this Baobab growing at such a rate in 2 years. What some people, I believe anyway, are forgetting is; the Baobab IS NOT a tree, it’s a succulent. Succulents tend to grow this fast when the climate permits and they are unrestricted by the potting environment and size.

@@DogFather69 Like Ombú "Tree"; Ficus familiy (i.e.: ficus ellastica). That´s why their roots tend to cause so many problems if planted in the street as "trees"... they break the paviment due to they horizontality. I´ll try that method... did that bonsai gave you some fruits already?

@@markochoversus842 that’s true. I was lucky enough to find a ficus religiosa a couple of weeks ago. Funny story, I contacted this lady who runs a nursery. Both she and her husband are elderly and this ficus religiosa had taken root randomly in one of their greenhouses as she said she had close to 150 of them at one time but no longer deals in them. They are actually considered as an invasive species here in FL due to their vast and easy propagation. Well, on the phone she says it’s just a small tree, if you remove it, you can have it for free. So, naturally I’m all excited as I’ve searched for one of these trees for a couple of years now without any luck. I get there and the damn thing is close to 20ft. tall. However the roots weren’t anymore than 8-10 inches deep the three main roots were about 100 yards long. In 95 degree heat (hotter and more humid inside the greenhouse), I damn near had a heatstroke after the 2.5 hours it took me to get it out of there and loaded up. BUT, I did end up with a beautiful tree for the yard, 4 saplings I’ve got in 2 gallon pots, and 5 bonsai trees, but wow it was a lot of work. The roots are what causes them to be invasive here as they aren’t deep at all, as you stated, and they just take over an area so quickly.

@@markochoversus842 I don’t have fruits yet, it’s still a young tree and only about 15-18 inches tall due to the smaller pot and me chopping it so frequently purposely to keep it bonsai size. I actually started growing it with the pot hung upside down so it’s now a cascading papaya as it’s running over the sides when turned right side up.

@@DogFather69 Ok... by your stated good hand, I believe that you should try with Chirimoya family (they are some type Anonnas, Graviolas...) Chirimoyas from Peru can stand "cold" climates... If you think in ypu area you won´t have "cold" temperatures, then I recommend you the Biribá (Rollinia Mucosa); it Is a subspecimen from north Argentina, similar to the ones you can find in Paraguay or Brazil. Also you should try with another endemic South American tree, the Jabuticaba (just Google it, its pretty scary, like some alien stuff) it´s fruit it´s really particular.

IMPOSSIBLE. There is no way for that size to be a two year old baobab grown from seed!!! I’m now growing 3 baobab root bulbs that I got from Senegal two years ago. When I got them, the phase 1 trunks were all about 1.5 inches in diameter. Now they are about and average 2.4 inches in diameter after I pruned the first phase of trunk size off. As I look at your trees, I’m not entirely sure that they are baobab trees. I’m not saying they aren’t, but something is definitely off.

With thick seeds like with this tree(which I have grown ( I'll scar them soak them for No More Than 3 days and right into the soil they go with any other smaller seeds or right into the soil they go that's how nature sure doesn't have a paper towel that's ridiculous.
