No need to file this is a waste of time and effort just soak boil water and leave seeds 24 to 48 hours. I did this place seeds in pot almost 100% germination. Seeds from Kimberley Western Australia.

Thanks!! I do something similar with citrus seeds. I take seeds from fruit... dry them about a day and peel the outer shell off and plant in a plant bag .... it sprouts quickly too
@markpescatore11 ай бұрын
Baobab trees are very slow growers and can reach ages of up to 3,000 years! No Baobab in the world grows that fast. I can't find any video of yours showing that exact tree as a seedling..🤥

Did you chop it down ?? I'm sure there's a small mechanical machine for rent powerful enough on the market capable of entering your garden without causing too much damage and uprooting this wonderful Baobab without killing it so that it can be replanted in a more appropriate place.

When I put the seeds in paper towels they go bad
@billyd76287 ай бұрын
soak them in half hydrogen peroxide half normal water. for about 7 or 10 minutes. have done that with all my new starters and no mold problems so far.

I've used this technique, more or less, twice now with excellent results. I find that I often have to cut or file the seeds several times over a few days (returning them to the water each time) to soften the seed coat sufficiently. Then I peel them and remove as much of the pale inner membrane as possible as this can impede the expansion of the embryo. Then they go between damp kitchen towels for a few days and once there's a good root on them I pot them up individually.
