Questions for Denise: 1. What first got you interested in working remotely? 2. Do you think the fact that you are working remotely and not in a traditional office has any kind of negative impact on your social life? 3. How did you and Chris meet (if this question is too personal, feel free to ignore it)? 4. What was the biggest challenge for you in starting to work remotely? 5. If you could start your entire digital nomad journey over again, what (if anything) would you do differently? 6. What field do you work in and how did you get into it?

Yes! Happy you’re back again! Looking forward to the interviews with Louise and Denise! Why did you start another KZfaq channel? I think the other videos match this channel perfectly :-)

Really? The content, brand and position all seem very different to me but if you like both, there's nothing stopping you from Subscribing to both! :)

Chris the Freelancer It’s not about the content, it’s about you ;-) And still the themes are the same: exploring the world, technical stuff, work online, combining travel and being an entrepreneur, living the life you want, searching for which lifestyle fits you most. You can make different playlists so you can make different styles of videos, but YOU are the brand. That’s why we watch your videos.

Anne Neijnens I agree. It's a subscription to Chris and it all ties in together.

Looking forward to hearing from Denise. What's been her favourite location so far? How long does she see herself travelling for? What does she do for a living?

how do you communicate with the locals when you stay in south east asian countries? do you just speak english or do you learn their language first before you visit?
@ChristheFreelancer
@ChristheFreelancer 6 жыл бұрын
Well, I travelled to 15 different countries last year and I'm not fluent in any of those countries languages. If you're interested in Thailand specifically, I wrote this article: christhefreelancer.com/thai-language-for-digital-nomads/

I've been a software engineer/developer for around 30 years. Turning that into location independence has been a little challenging for me, but I'm making progress. Do you think the Skillshare course will benefit those who are not beginning programmers ?
@ChristheFreelancer
@ChristheFreelancer 6 жыл бұрын
Not really, it's a beginner course for those wanting to learn web development but you could perhaps benefit depending on your current understanding of the web.

Can't believe you actually succeeded in persuading Denise, Chris - I mean - what finally made her crack? What strings did you have to pull? Did you have to fork out?......:-)

Chris, I'm prepping to make the jump into digital nomad for 2019. How do you make enough money to fund it all in terms of how do you actually get clients ? Is it primarily UpWork contracts ? Guidance on the money making portion would be amazing because I've hit a ceiling it feels. Love the vids man.
@ChristheFreelancer
@ChristheFreelancer 6 жыл бұрын
Yes. UpWork is the main way I find clients. I might have to make a bigger resource but for now, you can grab my getting started guide for free here: christhefreelancer.com/upwork-guide

Question for Denise, how has the vlogging affected this whole adventure you've been on? Has it pushed you both to explore more, has it been annoying and so on :)

I'm sure it is, ruby was great in its glory days but they have long passed and its now a rapidly fading technology. If your new to the game and decide to learn ruby you are gonna be facing very little job prospects in the future. Personally I think learning vanilla javascript then react or vue is the way to go these days. You will be raking in the cash with the amount of jobs available
