Sorry, you are having a cast. Sending prayers 🙏

I'm sorry about you having to wear your casts for so much longer. I hope the time goes quickly for you. Also, so many things to think about with maybe getting a different van, parking options etc. Lastly, I was thinking about you not having a lot of content to share, but I don't know anybody who is permanently in a wheelchair and would find it interesting to know how you go about just normal tasks like grocery shopping, house cleaning (is your sink lower than average so you can reach it?) What about preparing meals? Like when you want to drain a large pot of pasta? I liked your bicycle video a while back. 😊 What else do you do for fun? Do you have any hobbies or friend groups that you do things with? I like to paint and knit. Anyway, thanks for sharing your life. 😊

Thank you. Such good ideas for videos. I will keep that in mind as I would like to post regularly but struggle for ideas. thank you! What type of painting do you do. My Mom was an artist and I try sometimes with acrylic.
@Lisa-164 ай бұрын
@out-spokenwheelsonwheels5870 I do acrylic painting. Mostly things on nature and landscapes. I have also done people and pets. I recently started selling some of my work. I think an art outlet is really good for people. I tried to get my husband to do some woodwork or drawing. He can draw quite well when he puts his mind to it! Anyway, I would love to see videos of your day-to-day life. I hope your channel grows. 😊

I seem to remember that Bob Wells interviewed a paraplegic van lifer. Have you seen that van tour? Her van has a chair lift also.

i have been watching a channel with a parapelgic vanlifer. Not sure if I found her on Bob Wells or not. Can't remember but Bob Well interviewed me as well about two years ago.

Consider keeping this van & buying a pull-behind trailer/camper made for living in? You'd have more room, a "real"' kitchen, & a bath!!

Yes I totally agree about the kitchen and bath. However I don't want the hassle of trying to hook up and unhook a trailer. It would be great but not worth the effort.

Sorry you got bad news from the clinic. I could see it in your face before you even updated. ☹ I'm glad you're back in Canada so you're not stuck with US healthcare failures. You should of course rest or do whatever else you'd like, but I echo @Lisa-16 that there aren't that many KZfaqrs sharing wheelchair minivanlife. Even when you're not actively traveling, there are bits about your life, your decision-making process, and ableism that would be new info for loads of people.

Thank you for that. You have some good ideas. I will try to keep the content coming even when not it the van.

I condole with trying to decide on the minivan. I have an older GM minivan that I have semi-readied for if I have to full time in future due to disability poverty. So far it has miraculously escaped the transmission problems 4th gen GM minivans are known for. It's been a champ, in fact. And gas mileage is undoubtedly better than any full-sized van I could afford. I recently got a used full-sized van with a wheelchair lift in case I one day need to rely on a wheelchair. THAT has been a learning experience, especially around hunting down vintage manuals, which repair places will even look at it, how to get it insured, is the clearance with an under-vehicle lift enough for BLM land, etc. So I can't drive it right now because I'm still trying to get it insured. All of which is to say, I didn't know these issues because I didn't see any KZfaqrs talking about them. So in my opinion, if you want to there are always things about your daily life or daily minivanlife you can talk about that will interest people.

I hope you are able to get it insured. The freedom and affordability of camping on BLM land is so great! Hope you can enjoy it soon. @@spidrawebster
