This has been some time in the making, but Summer is almost here so we are pushing to have the AC up and running in the Belair ASAP. This video will give you a recap of where we are in the Vintage Air install on the car!
Lots of progress has been made so we hope you like the update!
As always thank you all for your continued support. We are excited to continue to share our love of all things automotive.

lets your viewers know that ALAN GROVE components Inc. has everything you would need to do this... I have them on my 59 belair, and my 59 is as low as it can go, with plenty of clearance.

I see that this video is over a year old, and hopefully by now your air conditioning is fully installed and working well. If you drive this nice 1959 Chevy on a regular basis in the summer in Florida, air conditioning is almost a necessity.

My engine compartment on my '59 Belair is set up the same way you are going to set up yours. The glove box sucks. As you know it was a deep box and the new one is shallow. I also lost the air vent on the passenger side. The funny thing about the vintage air is that I hardly use the A/C. I prefer to drive around with the windows down and the vent open. But my old girl is just for cruising, not a daily driver like yours.

We are hoping the AC helps us with the FL summer, it can get pretty brutal with the 100% humidity. More to come on the car soon!

Nice setup but still a challenge to get the right angles for the belts. I’m looking forward positively at your project.

Did you have to remove the inner fender to get out the factory heater box and reinstall the vintage ac pieces?
@LowTechGarage

Those pieces run through the fresh air vent location so you have to remove that on the passenger side.

wanting to install AC on my 63 impala. how hard was the process ? ive installed air ride myself so i have basic skills . but one installation instructions i saw mention having to remove the speedo cluster and cutting something out where the defrost goes ..im pretty nervous about that! also, did you drill holes into the duct for the air ride gauges ? i was wondering about where to move mine to ,didnt think i could drill into the air ducts

It is definitely an involved project. I broke it up into sections. First tackling the under dash items. Once that was done I worked on the engine bay items. The final part was wiring. All in all nothing was overly challenging. You have to take your time but it is approachable. For the gauges. Yes those screwed into the hard ducting.
