The tape doesn’t make you better or worse, it’s just the style so you aren’t miraculously going to have an incredible snapshot with that tj. Also tape jobs do affect your game but not by much

Weird all the top forwards are doing Toe to Heel now.I guess it gives it more friction, it used to be the opposite.

Ive been going toe to heel because the puck would roll off the stick “with the grain”. If u tape heel to toe the tape goes against the puck. Its hard to explain but when u wax from heel to toe the tape doesnt fold up

The old idea was to do heel to toe for forwards because the ice would build up in the seams. Defenders did to to heel because they’re usually skating backwards. But I guess you would get more friction from the seams on your shot if it’s done toe to heel. I see a lot of Pro changing this lately, also the tennis tape is crazy and seems like a really good idea.

We were taught ice would build up in he seems, but things change and it makes sense it might create more spin on your shot going toe to heel. That lizard skin stud seems super cool as well.

The only tape I put on the butt of my stick was just enough of a knob so I could pick it up with my gloves on if I dropped it. Anything more is pointless to me.
