Great video. Very knowledgeable! I wish you were local. Came here because my daughter's 09 Corsa D SRI 1.6T has a slightly noisy turbo. There is a "metallic" sound as the turbo spins with revs. Is this likely to be due to the bearings breaking down?

hi mate came across your video on the let turbo core replacement. I have a 2006 vxr Astra and have recently noticed random small puffs of smoke from the exhaust when slowing down thru the gears.Only happens so often .No loss in actual power as well.I have been trying to find out how to remove the turbo to check seals and any core play and seeing how you have done it,I have also seen that people seem to suggest when removing the exhaust manifold that you should replace the exhaust studs from the head.Is that essential.Hopefully you might reply cheers

Don't the small turbos spool up quicker and more fun to drive ? When I put a hybrid turbo on my feista rs turbo years ago I was disappointed with the power delivery off it I think it was a t25 hybrid turbo I put on it

Hi mate, slightly off topic of turbos but just a quick question to see if you have come across this with any of the z20let engines you’ve had, I have a really annoying oil leak coming from near the manifold area so behind the turbo. It runs down and pools on the top of the sump and sometimes a few drops on the road when parked up. I had the turbo off a month ago to change the chra and couldn’t see anything apparent at all. It’s getting on my nerves now. Lol.

So just to get this straight; you cannot get a k04 chra and put it inside a z20let turbo housing? The VXR turbo housing is bigger and therefore only fits the K04 chra?
