@@alegreviews Oh yeah man, this thing runs super nicely and I've had it for 2 years now. No problems at all, just requires patience. I can’t really recommend anything. Adding 8gb of ram is great and ssd as well. But if you want a new gpu - you ll probably better off changing everything. If you want to stick with this case and motherboard - you d need like 500-600 psu, i5/i7 that fits your motherboard and some radeon ( they are better performance for the buck ). Otherwise 310 psu can’t really hold better cpu/gpu

You need to upgrade to a new bigger computer. Nothing expensive and powerful gonna fit it in and power supply needs to be more powerful. You probably have 400w. Even rx 6600/7600 or rtx 4060 is a power stretch. And even these - not all gonna fit. I d suggest to just fully upgrade to something bigger with a better power supply ideally assembling yourself for your needs - but that requires computer knowledge

Hi! I’m new to pcs, I have this pc but do these upgrades make games run and look better? Like a graphics card or cpu?
@alegreviews
@alegreviews 29 күн бұрын
Games are processed by CPU, graphics card so more powerful ones run them faster and on higher graphics settings and you better have enough RAM too. Most of games stress GPU more. So it’s better to put more money into a videocard Newer graphics cards also have new features that make everything look better by itself. Console have a stable set of CPU, GPU and RAM and get very slow in the end of their life cycle. For example I played Witcher 3 in 2015 on max settings at 70 fps. And PS4/XBox were limited at 30 fps ( which super bad for anything action ) and provided worse graphics. But to be fair if you buy xbox series s on sale for below $300 - it easily beats any PC at that price

@alegreviews
@alegreviews Жыл бұрын
Rx 550 is really old and weak now. If your power supply is 400W then rx 6600 is your limit. If it’s less then you gotta go with something slower. 6700 XT needs like 230w of power, even if you find one that physically fits in the case - you ll burn your computer with it.

@alegreviews
@alegreviews Жыл бұрын
It might be not, because 2060: 1) require like twice more power (and it's twice faster), it is suggested everywhere to use 500-550W power supply. 2) not sure about extra connectors it requires 3) might be too big. I had a GTX 1660 which is an older version of 2060 and it was too long to fit in the case I don't know to be honest if it will be good for this computer

I don’t know either. You upgraded ram and ssd - this is great. But I m not sure about 2060. Some models will be too big physically for sure. I upgraded a few units with XFX RX 6600 which consumes less energy than rtx 2060, but is about as fast. I had to bend the case a bit to put it in and then bend it back after insertion. And I would not go with anything more powerful with this computer. If you are thinking about upgrading Videocard and power supply and probably CPU - i would suggest to just accumulate some money and get entirely new computer that has a bigger case and that will be good for future upgrades.

For example I had a GTX 1660 I wanted to try, it was shorter with 1 fan only but it was too tall so I would never be able to close the case with it. See if that upgrade is worth it for You. You may as well just buy a new computer later on instead, I would always suggest with a big case 25L at least, but better 40L size.

I have not seen an older one with Ryzen 3 2200G, but it’s AM4 socket so it should be able to handle ryzen 7 5700G/5800G - I would research on forums about your motherboard to make sure. 32gb ram is great !!! If you have 325W power supppy then you need something of low power videocard, some Intel ARC. If you switch to 400W - then probably RTX 4060, if 500+ W then some radeon like rx 6700/6700xt, or rtx 3060/3060ti, 4070 ($500 videocard but consumes less power than AMD or older nvidia couterparts). If you are switching to all new parts it may make sense to get entirely new computer. It all depends on your budget. It can be $100-$150 just videocard upgrade or cpu, videocard, psu for total of $800. I m not familiar with Littleton Reddit forums can be of great help

@alegreviews 4 ай бұрын
@KIDNEPHRITE with new power supply - keep in mind that the case is 15L which quiet small, so it has to be small enough to fit in and be screwed to it properly. Same with videocards: needs to be not too long and not too tall. I had a GTX 1660 that was relatively short but but too tall so the case wouldn’t close. Videocard with same graphic chip can have 1 or 2 or 3 fans. Any 3 fan videocard will be too long, and many of 2 fan ones also. But short one fan videocards are sometimes too tall. That’s an unfortunate limiting factor of small case that half the videocards won’t physically fit.

But they account for modern i7 with higher power usage. Keep in mind that there are many things that use the power: ram, ssd/hdd, fans, charging phone, motherboard. Everything needs some. RTX 4060 is low on consumption for its power. I would put it if it was 400W but 310 might be a bit low. I personally would not do it. I would upgrade to 500w or so before upgrading a videocard. I would stick to rx 6600. Also physical size is important. Most of videocards just won’t fit in the case. I trued MSI 1660 and was too tall, most too long. Also videocards have different modifications with different amount fans which is different size. I had to bend the case a little bit to stick this one in. It is absolutely the biggest one you can fit. And I would say the most powerful as well. Something among new generation videocards might be faster and smaller and consume less power for their speed, but I didn’t touch any of them yet. Switching from 5500 to 6600 is already a big upgrade. And you may decide to add a second ssd/hdd which will also consume power. What I would do if it was for myself: get rx 6600, add 8gb of ram to make it 16gb and add 2tb sata ssd. And that’s it. And later on if I would need a better computer I would get a different one.

If you are looking to upgrade to SSD - prices really went down recently for both SATA SSD and M.2 NVME. They are much more affordable recently. When I first upgraded to SSD - I never look back. But maybe You decide to do so with a new computer. With video card - just make sure it physically fits in it, because 15L case is quiet small. Not every 6600 will fit. I assume some are bigger. New videocard will improve gaming by a lot. And CPU is still gonna be fine for now. Trust me on that. I have in one of my computers i7-3770 (top of 3rd gen i7 developed in 2012) - now it is an office computer and it still works good with 6 different browsers open at the same tjme + whatsup, viber, telegram. And just a few years ago when I used it for gaming it was still fine, it was beating ps4 pro by a lot - i could have 60-80 fps in games on max settings where ps4 pro was limiting those by 30 fps max to get some stability (witcher 3, fallout 4 to name a few).

I got this computer on sale then upgraded, it was for someone. It’s actually more than they need. 16GB of Ram is a cheap and easy upgrade, so it makes it all set with the RAM. Adding a 1/2/4 TB SATA SSD is cheap too now, solves the possible storage issue. Initial 256GB is definitely a small amount that’s only good if you play just a couple of games. Most of advanced games are over 50GB, sometimes close to 100GB. The mediocre CPU is fine. Most of games will be limited by videocard. RX 6600 is about as good as You can put in this computer without overpowering the 400W power supply and it’s like twice or so faster than RX 5500. It provides mid level performance. So if you buy something a lot more expensive with i7 12-13th gen (much faster cpu) and a videocard like rtx 3060 or 4050 - it will be kinda close in fps in most games (a bit faster). A much faster CPU won’t make a huge difference. But you ll pay almost twice more (considering that you ll sell rx 5500 for $70-$100 or so). Upgrading existing computer like that it that way is a good alternative to buying a new expensive machine.

@dnlerr4382 of course not. Motherboards for Intel and AMD have different CPU sockets. Ryzen 5 5600 is a competitor for a slightly newer Intel like i5-11400 probably. But I don’t think difference gonna be big. I would not switch to another CPU

@@alegreviews how steep is the performance contrast between a 990 pro and a nvme 3rd gen crucial. Would a 980 pro still be a lot better than crucial?

@alegreviews 3 ай бұрын
@trenhen4311 much faster, like at very least double the write/read speed. but you may not notice the difference as much in real life experience because either way they very fast. I compared 980 pro to my old samsung sata ssd 850 pro and 980 pro literally shows it is 10 times faster read/write speed than a decent sata ssd Samsung SSDs and Flash Drives never failed me.

@trenhen4311 actually I think the motherboard only supports 3rd gen. So you can save $ and just buy 3rd gen nvme. If you buy 4th - it will just work at speed of 3rd

It’s an older one. While you can get it at a good price for performance - it consumes 175W (500W recommended PSU) which is about as much as RX 6700 Newer stuff consumes less power per “performance”. RTX 4060 - much less power consumption

I m sure some people will say yes. I would not recommend. That’s about 30-40w extra power consumption. I don’t want to recommend something that I would not do. The retail box on 6600 will probably say: use 450 or 500 w power supply. It is probably a bit overstretching. I would suggest just using it as is. And buy something completely new or build yourself later. Or you may upgrade it and power supply to like 500w and then go for something like 6700(xt)

I don’t know. If I wanted a more powerful computer I would get something much bigger in size to fit bigger videocards. This model is a basic gaming computer. If you want to upgrade PSU and videocard then you may just as well just buy a new/2nd computer. I d say it might even better to build your own with all the parts that you want and find on sale. As for prebuilt computers I prefer keeping them as they are and just do simple RAM and SSD upgrade More powerful videocards will need more powerful PSUs with additional power connectors and this computer only has 1x 8 pin connector for extra power, and more powerful videocards generally use 2.

@@alegreviews it looks like it's a 350w, I did eventually find the power, they had it tucked away. This isn't my main rig or anything, just an old one i picked up for cheap to possibly resell so I'm not losing sleep over it or anything. It has like 10th or 11th gen i5.. 350 would be cutting it close for a 1660 super eh? Realllllllllly didn't want to have to buy anything for it but it looks like I may be getting a new PSU. These modern prebuilts are soooo bad. The mobo in this thing actually made me laugh. I think people wanting something low end to do a bit of gaming on would be much better suited to buy one of the newish rdna2 / 3 mini PCs. The raddeon 680m iGPU in my secondary PC is basically on par with something like this. Thanks for your help brother. I truly appreciate taking a minute for me.

@ReptilianRichardRamirez GTX 1650 would be fine. GTX 1660 super - I don’t know, I d say you need 400W. When I was building my previous PC years ago - I just put great motherboard and 750W Antec for future upgrades. And that computer lasted for over 10 years, still works, I might use it somewhere for something, not sure yet. Budget prebuilt computers use medium to cheaper motherboards, ram, ssd, psu. I would not use 350w with 1660 super for myself. I am the who overpays for power supplies. But it is probably ok. I would just load it 100% and see how it works. And see how much power it actually draws under 100% load. I use UPCs for my computers, so they show used power and it is actually less than I thought it would be. I might as well save a bit on power supply next time
