This video will give you an insight if you upgrade a laptop and what are the things that you should look up to.

Acer Aspire 4743G
Intel Core i5-480M
Nvidia Geforce GT 540M
500 GB HDD
2 GB DDR3 RAM
14" LCD LED
Upgrades:
120 GB SSD
2 GB DDR3 RAM (4 GB in Total)

Did you clean the grill/cooler fins? I have the same CPU in my X201 with a way more basic cooler, yet i get 75C max and a score of 198 in CB R15.

Recently i buy Hp CQ42 Rm120 don't have Charger Buy shopee Rm20 Then Few days used got Black screen then i change the motherboard Rm124 and upgrade cpu i5 480m before cpu i3 350m is this ok what you think boro ...

corre bien el stacrat II pero debe ser por la GPU integrada de 1GB, la core i5 es de 1ra generacion y aun da pelea XD..... esa placa no soporta core i7 ?

I do have the acer 4741 with core i3 350m socket 989 rpga. Is it possible to upgrade it to core i7 940XM since my socket type is Socket G1, or rPGA988A. does it supports the Processor?

@@jorgen1892 don’t worry bro you don’t have to worry about tdp if you have good cooling, I swapped my 25tdp cpu for the i7 840qm which is 45tdp and I usually reach 79 degrees on windows 10 but for some reason on windows 7 I get 57-64 degrees which is insanely nice and still smooth. I’d recommend you to go for it as your laptop has 35 watt tdp and just a 20 watt increase. Just like I did. Just make sure you have fans over 4000+ rpm and great thermal paste, if you want 60 degrees with 55tdp on your laptop, go for thermal grizzly liquid metal. But remember if your cpu fan uses a copper pipe and a copper shield for the cpu you’ll be good to go with liquid metal and you’ll have insanely awesome temps maybe even 40 on idling. But if your cpu shied and the fan cooling pipe is metal do NOT use liquid metal, your destroying the cooler. Just go for liquid metal if your cpu is covered by Copper. And if your worried about temps And overheating. The i5 540 or 560qm is always another option. 😊

How come the ram is 1333 mhz These first gen intel core cpu's only supported till 800/1066mhz ram speeds.

nagulat ako nag tagalog ka sir. balak ko upgrade yung laptop ko na acer old model rin. 4738Z. sobrang tagal na nya saken 9 years na rin ata. nanonood ako ng upgrades to ssd and processor. kaso upon googleling limited lang yung aken ng processor ng core i3 M380, core i3 m370 and core i5 m480. yung caddy rin gusto ko sana mag lagay para makeep ko yung old hdd ko with files then install ng os sa ssd. worth kaya mag upgrade pa ko? or invest na lang para sa bagong laptop. nasasayangan lang ako kasi nagana pa tong laptop. kaso baba rin ng video card neto. 128mb if di ako nagkakamali. haha

pwede pa yan upgrade mo yung ram 2x4GB 1066mhz tska 240gb ssd mura lang naman mga ram tska ssd ngayon. tapos installan mo yung windows 10 gaming/lite edition.
